Xiangshan Temple is located at the eastern foot of Xiangshan Mountain in the north of Beishifo Village. According to the records of the Northern Zhou Dynasty, there are 369 statues made by monks on the cliffs on the mountain, hence the name "Mosaic Mountain". The village in front of the mountain is called "Stone Buddha Village". In order to distinguish several villages that were later differentiated from the North Stone Buddha, Dongzhuang was called "East Stone Buddha" and Nanzhuang was called "South Stone Buddha", while the original Stone Buddha village was changed to "North Stone Buddha". According to legend, in the early years of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang sent Liu Bowen to travel across the country to learn about the scenery and people's feelings. Liu Bowen came to Yudiliang, a stone Buddha in the north, and found the mountain as Wolong. Liu Bowen knows the situation like the back of his hand. He found that the Jade Emperor Liang was constantly moving towards the source of Juma River. If he comes to the source of refusing horses and connects with Lotus Leaf Mountain, there will be chaos in the world. At that time, Laiyuan will have a real dragon emperor and compete with the Zhu Ming Dynasty for political power. In order to break the feng shui here, Liu Bowen ordered the construction of Xiangshan Temple at the eastern foot of Xiangshan Mountain to suppress it, and Zhenhai Temple at Yehe Mountain. Sure enough, after the completion of the temple, the two mountains no longer grow, but are connected in purple, showing an auspicious image.
Xiangshan Temple is the place where the twelve scenic spots "Xiangshan" in Laiyuan return to light. It is said that on the day of summer solstice, when the sun goes down, when you stand in front of the temple, you can still see the dazzling sun rays. The scenery around the temple is beautiful, but the dilapidated scene of Xiangshan Temple is extremely out of harmony with the surrounding beautiful scenery. This withered Buddhist Dojo embarrassed Buddhist disciples and believers from all directions, and also aroused the determination of Master Yin Ming and the local government to restore their old appearance and carry forward.
In order to restore the original appearance of Xiangshan Temple as soon as possible, Ming teachers ran around to raise money for the project and traveled all over the country. After the project started, Master Ming visited the site to guide the craftsmen in construction. It is the unremitting efforts of Master Yin Ming that make Xiangshan Temple glow with the brilliance of Buddhist Dojo again.
Today, Xiangshan Temple has been built with buildings such as Daxiong Hall, which has been re-used as a Buddhist Dojo and started some Buddhist activities. In order to support the construction of the temple, the local government specially granted the temple more than 200 mu of construction land. After the temple is completed, it will be located on the terrain like a plush chair. Master Yin Ming, monks and secular believers in Xiangshan Temple are preparing for the construction of other buildings in the temple, such as Buddhist scripture building, Bell and Drum Tower, Guanyin Hall and Dizang Hall.
