Shuangyashan City, also known as Coal City, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Heilongjiang Province. Located in the northeast of China, Heilongjiang Province, the northern foothills of Wanda Mountain, with the vast hinterland of Sanjiang Plain in the north and rolling mountains in the south. The terrain is high in the southwest and low in the northeast, facing Russia across the Wusuli River in the east, and located in the humid climate zone in the middle temperate zone, with a total area of 22,050.927 square kilometers.
On May 25th, 1956, Shuangyashan Mining Area was cancelled and Shuangyashan City was established. Shuangyashan City is an important production base of coal, electricity, chemical industry, steel and grain in Heilongjiang Province, and is known as "the black soil wetland capital and green ecological city". There are the largest swamp wetlands in China-Sanjiang Plain Wetland Group, Anbang River, Qixinghe River, Bird's Nest Island, Thousand Birds Lake, Naoli River, Zhenbao Island and other national and provincial wetlands.

Shuangyashan City is located in the hilly area at the northern foot of Wanda Mountains. It is an ancient mountain with gentle slope, low hills, thick soil and mixed broadleaf and coniferous forests. The territory is high in the southwest and low in the northeast, with an average elevation of 450 meters.
The south of the city is mountainous, and the southwest is about 500 to 600 meters above sea level. Only Qixinglazi and Shidaoba Nanshan are as high as 852 meters and 755 meters respectively, and the cutting depth is between 200 and 400 meters, which belongs to low mountainous areas. These mountains are mainly distributed in the south of the city.
