About the Great Pagoda of Nepal?

Countless kalpas ago, Master Guanshiyin vowed to free all sentient beings from the sufferings of this world. After rescuing countless sentient beings from their worries, he climbed to the top of the Potala Palace, thinking that there was nothing left to liberate all sentient beings. However, when he carefully inspected the situation in the six realms, he saw that there were still many sentient beings staying in the lower realms like flies clinging to a cesspool.

The Bodhisattva thought that it was impossible to save all sentient beings from the sea of ??suffering, so he couldn't help crying and shed two tears. He prayed that even these two tears could help future sentient beings overcome their worries. angry. These two teardrops transformed into the two daughters of the thirty-three-day-old King Indra, named Purna and Apurna. ). "Afulona" once broke the law of heaven by stealing flowers and was punished to be reborn in the human world. She became the daughter of a chicken breeder in the Moguda region of Nepal. Known as the "chicken-mother Senfna", she gave birth to four sons.

Senfna accumulated enough wealth to raise his sons, provide them with education, and arrange for them to get married. Then she accumulated a lot of wealth from the profits, and she thought to herself: "The savings I gained from the breeding business have made my son a respected man. I will build a big pagoda as the center of all Buddhas, that is, The outward manifestation of my inner sanctity will become a place of worship for countless sentient beings and a stupa for the indestructible soul of Tathagata." She went to see the king.

She bowed to the king, walked around, knelt down, put her hands together and begged: "Please allow me to build a large tower as an expression of my inner sanctity, as a place of worship for countless sentient beings, and as the heart of all Buddhas." container and as a stupa for the indestructible spiritual bones of Tathagata Vajra. ’ Great kings never make hasty decisions. After thinking quietly for a moment, the king approved her to build the pagoda. The hen woman Senfenna, her four sons, donkeys and elephants began to build the big pagoda.

They transported the soil to the construction site, built the foundation, and built the walls to the third floor. At this time, a group of Nepalese people who were dissatisfied with the poor chicken woman gathered together. Feeling humiliated by this woman's extraordinary achievements, they said to the king, "It's not appropriate to allow her to build this tower!" The king replied, "Listen carefully! This poor chicken woman has accumulated enough wealth to raise a large family. Four sons, and enough wealth to build this tower. I think this is a great achievement. I have given her instructions to carry out the construction. " Others also tried to block the project, but failed. Therefore, this big tower was called Zhalong Kashu (meaning that once it is authorized to be built, all obstacles can be overcome). The construction work is in progress, and the tower has been built up to the neck. At this time, the poor chicken woman realized that she would soon die, so she summoned her four sons and their servants to come to her. She said, "Complete this great pagoda! Son, if you follow my wishes, you will complete your righteousness in this life and the next." Then she died.

The sound of cymbals sounded, the gods rained down flowers, and many rainbow lights appeared in the sky. And the poor hen-keeper Senfenna attained the Buddhahood because of her charity in building the big pagoda, and was named Shen. Chamsi Lhamo Pramsha. In order to repay their parents' kindness and obtain merit, the four sons followed their mother's last wish and promised to add a top to complete the tower. So, the fourth son continued to work as usual, taking the donkey and the elephant to carry the bricks. They worked for another three years before completing the project, and enjoyed seven years together.

The incorruptible relics of the great Kasyapa Tathagata of the past were sealed in the tree of life in the tower. After laying out abundant offerings and scattering fragrant flowers, the Great Kassapa Buddha appeared surrounded by numerous accompanying Bodhisattvas, spreading across the sky in front of the pagoda. All the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions, surrounded by countless Arhats, the Five Tathagatas, the heavenly kings of the three realms, and countless peaceful and wrathful deities, appeared inconceivably like flax flowers in full bloom; they scattered the flowers, and their auspicious presence graced the event. Quite a few. At this time, the sound of cymbals was loud, raindrops fell from the sky, and fragrance floated everywhere. The earth also shook three times.

Thus coming to the sea, the light of wisdom emanating from the body lasts for five days.

The vast sea of ??Buddhas and Bodhisattvas said to the faithful with one voice: "You who are blessed and have a good background, this big pagoda is the supreme container of the Dharma body that is inseparable from the hearts of all Buddhas in the three generations. The desire to build this big pagoda was born from a pure mind. , because of this merit, any prayer you make will be fulfilled successfully."

The eldest son prayed: "With the merit I have gained from completing this tower with a pure heart and will, may I be reincarnated and frozen in the northern border. of the barbarian nation and become a great king and protector in the evil world (Kaliyuga), when the five poisons—greed, anger, ignorance, jealousy, and pride—increase, may I carry forward the teachings of Sakyamuni Tathagata in that place. Establish the Buddha's teachings and immortalize them forever."

The second son prayed: "The merits gained from completing this great pagoda will be used by me when my brother is reincarnated as a king and protector in the frozen barbarian country. When the Buddha's Dharma is being established and the basis for the teachings needs to be introduced into the Sangha, may I be reincarnated as a monk, become a great Arahant, and ordain the believers as Sangha."

The third son prayed: "With the merit I have gained from completing this stupa, when my two brothers established the Buddha's teachings in the frozen barbarian land, and the people were able to follow the Buddha's teachings, may I miraculously be in the lotus flower May I destroy the continuum of birth and death, and live as long as the sun and the moon. May I be reincarnated as a tantric yogi, a mantra holder, and subjugate the gods, demons, and humans, and conquer the barbarian lands. All vicious and cannibalistic natives, protect the Dharma established by my brother."

Then, the youngest son prayed: "I will use the merits gained from completing the stupa when the three of you are reincarnated into the frozen barbarians. Region, one establishes the teaching, one consolidates it, and one protects it. May I be reincarnated as a minister to coordinate your cause."

After the four sons prayed, all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas said in unison: "My sons who are growing up, blessed ones, your prayer is indeed noble and selfless, and all the Buddhas are happy with it. The incomparable mountain of merit produced by your prayer is incomparable to all the Buddhas of the three generations." At that time, All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the ten directions melted into a ray of light and disappeared into the great pagoda. From then on, this pagoda became known to the world as "the unity of all Buddhas".

At this time, a blood-sucking insect landed on the eldest son's neck and bit him, causing him unbearable pain. He swept the insect away with his hand and killed it. However, he prayed with boundless compassion: "When I am reincarnated as Dharma King in the frozen barbarian land, may this insect be reborn as a prince who practices Buddhism." The donkeys carrying building materials to the big pagoda happened to hear these prayers, It thought that it also wanted to make a wish.

However, due to lack of that ability, I did not think of any prayer in my heart. It became angry and had evil thoughts: "When the eldest son is reincarnated as the Dharma King and establishes Buddhism in the frozen barbarian land, let me be born as a foul-mouthed minister and make all the king's achievements in vain." Four. The son's servant understood the donkey's intention and prayed: "When this donkey is born as a vicious minister who wants to hinder the promotion of Buddhism, at that time, let me be reincarnated as a wise and pious minister, so that I can overcome and defeat his deceit." Conspiracy."

The elephant also wanted to pray, but found that he was unable to do so. It became very angry: "I carried heavy stones and earth to build the stupa, but I got no reward. When these sons are reincarnated in the frozen barbarian land to establish Buddhism, let me be born as the great-grandson of the king. Suppress and destroy Buddhism." A crow perched nearby was aroused by this wish and made a perfect thought.

She prayed: "When this elephant is reborn as a king who persecutes the Dharma, and when he tries to suppress the Dharma, let me be reincarnated as a great Bodhisattva and assassinate that evil king." There are two. Brahmin youths wearing the sacred yellow thread are the attendants of the stupa. They prayed: "When the Dharma is established in the frozen barbarian land, let the two of us be reincarnated as translators to translate all the holy scriptures." Two other bright and wise girls from the royal family who participated in the consecration ceremony prayed like this: "When the Dharma is established in the ice, When the feudal barbarian state was established, the two of us were reincarnated with profound knowledge, so that we could copy and write the Buddhist scriptures and their treatises.
