Founded in the Song Dynasty, it was formerly called "Buddhist Temple" and was originally the lower house of Tianguan Temple. The main hall of the existing building was built in Yuan Dynasty, and the rest were built in Ming and Qing Dynasties. The temple sits west facing east and enters the courtyard three times, covering an area of 5981 square meters. The central axis is the mountain gate, the front hall, the main hall, the sutra storage building and the ten thousand Buddha caves (grottoes) in turn, and there are more than 2 slant halls and corridors on both sides. The main hall is seven rooms in width, four rafters in depth, one eaves resting on the top of the mountain, glass trimming, huge bucket _ materials, and six shops are double-hung.

the wanfo cave covers an area of 59.78 square meters, with a flat roof and carved patterns such as lying cow, tiger, monkey, jade rabbit, lotus flower and ganoderma lucidum.

yiju temple has a long history, large scale and magnificent momentum. it is the first existing temple building in Linxian county and a valuable historical and cultural heritage. In May 26, Yiju Temple, as an ancient building from Yuan Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, was approved by the State Council to be included in the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
