Introduction of Longquan Temple

Longquan Temple is located in Niushou Mountain Scenic Area in the southern suburbs of Nanjing, and it is named after a clear mountain spring in the temple. The temple was founded in the Tang Dynasty with a history of 1000 years. It is one of the earliest temples in Nanjing. The capital construction of Longling Taling started on 1995, and it started to operate after 1999 was approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Provincial Civil Affairs Department and the Civil Affairs Bureau. The centralized management unit is the Nanjing Funeral Management Office, which belongs to the Nanjing Funeral Reform Project.

The temple was destroyed by the war during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, and now only the remains of Brokeback Cliff and Guanyin Cave remain. In order to restore the style of this thousand-year-old temple, led by Nanjing Cultural Relics Department, Hong Kong patriot Li Daobang invested 6.5438+0 million yuan to rebuild Longquan Temple. The newly-built Longquan Temple covers an area of 8,000 square meters, twice the area of the original temple. The temples are all designed and built according to the architectural style of the Tang Dynasty, and are divided into the main hall, the Dizang King Hall and the annex rooms.

The restoration and opening of Longquan Temple not only added another cultural relic scenic spot to Nanjing, but also connected the scenic spots of Niushou Mountain Huijue Temple and Nantang Erling in the southern suburbs, laying a good foundation for the further development of tourism resources in Nanjing Niushou Mountain Scenic Spot.
