Metaphysical calligraphy is the first Copybook for calligraphy in the history of calligraphy in China, which combines Cao Quanbei, Zhang Qianbei, stele, Zhao Tie and Wang Xizhi's Preface to the Holy Teaching. It is a vivid expression and exposition of some abstract contents in the form of calligraphy, which shows the basic application of "calligraphy and art" in the Chinese nation's five thousand-year-old thought of "Yi, Confucianism, Taoism and Zen". He is also unique in painting. People in the industry call him the "persimmon king", using the brush and ink techniques of Wu Changshuo, a master of Chinese painting. On the basis of tradition, his style is impressive, with strong creativity and fluidity, which embodies novelty, metaphor and aesthetic value.
Over the years, Xuan Yi's paintings and calligraphy works have been used as national gifts for foreign heads of state and politicians when the central leaders visit China. Many successful exhibitions of personal calligraphy and painting have been held at home and abroad, and reported in many news media and online media such as CCTV, China National Broadcasting, provincial TV stations and World Collection.
