Opening hours of Tanzhe Temple 202 1

Tanzhe Temple in Beijing is a very important Buddhist shrine in the local area, with a long history of 1700 years, even longer than Beijing. A large number of citizens and tourists visit every day. So when will Tanzhe Temple reopen due to the epidemic?

The scenic spot of Tanzhe Temple is closed, and the main hall is closed.

Tanzhe Temple and Jietai Temple Scenic Area will suspend all religious activities from August 7, 20021,and close religious places such as Daxiong Hall until further notice! Visitors can still go to the outdoor open area of the scenic spot.

The whole temple faces south, backed by Mount Everest, and surrounded by nine peaks, such as Huilong, Huju, Pengri and Cui Zi, it is a treasure trove of geomantic omen. Because there is Longtan behind the temple and Zheshu in front, it is named Tanzhe Temple.

Princess Miao Yan, the daughter of Kublai Khan in Yuan Shizu in the Yuan Dynasty, went to Tanzhe Temple to become a monk in order to atone for her father. After she passed away in the temple, she knelt in the guanyin temple every day to chant "Li Yin". After a long time, she actually ground an adobe in the temple to a depth of two feet.

Today, the brick worship of Princess Miao Yan is still enshrined in the Guanyin Hall of Tanzhe Temple, which is a very precious historical relic of Tanzhe Temple. After the master died in the temple, his tomb tower was in the low tower in front of the temple.

In the thirty-sixth year of Kangxi, Emperor Kangxi visited Tanzhe Temple twice, gave the temple the name "Building Yun Xiu Temple" and wrote the temple forehead in person. Since then, Tanzhe Temple has become the largest royal temple in Beijing.

Entering the temple from the mountain gate, there are buildings such as the mountain gate, the Heavenly King Hall, the Ursa Major Hall and the Piluge on the central axis of the temple, and there are pear trees courtyard and palace courtyard on the left and right sides, all of which can be visited on foot.

The architectural style of the temple is unified, and most of them have bright and brilliant paintings, and the layout is very beautiful. There are many palaces where the emperor lived, so they are very beautiful. In addition to buildings, there are many towering old trees in the yard, which cover the sky and give people a feeling of ancient simplicity and tranquility, and photography is also very good.

South of Tan Jie Temple is Lengyan Temple with unique architectural style. Below it is an octagonal white marble sumitomo, and above the abutment is an octagonal hall with doors on all sides. The roof of the temple is double eaves, the lower eaves are still octagonal, and the cornices are upturned. The upper eaves are round and umbrella-shaped. The top of the hall is a circular pyramid roof, and the top is a gold-plated roof.

The shurangama sutra altar was originally the place where monks in the temple taught shurangama sutra and held shurangama sutra meetings. Due to disrepair, it was removed from protection in 197 1 and rebuilt in 20 13, becoming the only shurangama altar in China.

Treasure pot: There is a copper pot in front of Tianwang Temple, with a diameter of 1.85 m and a depth of 1. 1 m, for monks to cook. This pot was originally in the West Room of the North Room of the East Cross Hospital, where there was a bigger pot with a diameter of 4 meters and a depth of 2 meters. It can put 10 stone in porridge once, and it takes 16 hours to cook once.

Because the bottom of the pot is thick and simmered slowly, the porridge is sticky and fragrant. As for these two pots, there is also a saying that "splashing sand does not leak rice". It turns out that there is a "sand container" at the bottom of the pot. With the constant stirring when cooking porridge, sand and gravel will sink into the depression at the bottom of the pot.

The imperial tree behind the Hall of Great Heroes is a thousand-year-old ginkgo tree with a spectacular scale. It is said that when every generation of Qing emperors ascended the throne, every branch of this tree was growing, which was very interesting.

In addition to the above scenic spots, the "Qushui" sculpture, Tiger Cave and Guanyin Cave in the temple are also famous, each with its own interesting history and legend.

On the northeast side of Tanzhe Temple, there is a stone step road leading to the mountain and Longtan behind the temple. The "pool" in Tanzhe Temple refers to the Longtan behind the mountain. It's about 1 km to Longtan, and it takes about half an hour to get there. But Longtan is small and not very distinctive, and tourists seldom go there.

In addition to enjoying many ancient trees and temple buildings, the natural scenery around Tanzhe Temple is also very good. The whole temple is surrounded by several hills, and the surrounding mountains are densely wooded. Every autumn, red leaves are everywhere on the mountain, which is no less than Xiangshan and other places. It is a very good place to watch red leaves in Beijing.
