The tower will be built in the fourth year tomorrow (1624). Design supervision of Qiu XIII, a famous tower master in Ming Dynasty. The tower is built directly from the ground, without abutment and pedestal, and it is an attic tower with brick-like and wood-like building structure. Six corners and seven floors, empty inside, no wooden floor. The bottom tower has a wall thickness of 1 m, a height of 3. 1 m and a width of 2.3 m on both sides. There are three arched kettle doors, 2 meters high and 0.56 meters wide, and the south gate is engraved with the words "Yongyuan Xiuta". From bottom to top, the height is reduced step by step, reaching 2 1 m (24 m). There are arched windows or decorative walls on each side above the second floor. The waist eaves are made of flat bricks, the eaves are not prosperous, and the wing angles are inclined, which is elegant and chic.
From the second floor to the seventh floor of the tower, there are shrines on each side. There are brick carvings on the first and second floors of the tower, engraved with the words "Yongyuan Building the Tower", "Apocalypse Civilization" and "Jiazi Longfei", as well as the names of the investor and tower teacher Qiu Shisan, which are simple and elegant. These tower builders hope that they and their descendants can get three yuan in the imperial examination, so they are named after "Yongyuan".
Yongyuan Xiuta is the only brick attic tower in Shangyu in Ming Dynasty. 1962 was announced as a cultural relics protection unit in Shangyu County.
