Because of the great success of Qianlong, he spent a lot of money and material resources in the Qing Dynasty and built many luxurious buildings. Qianlong was blinded by the phenomenon of prosperous times and didn't realize the irreversible decline of Qing Dynasty caused by his arrogance.
In the Qing Dynasty, there was a village in Changping District, Beijing. In rural times, there was only one task to keep the tomb of Princess Ming, and she was Wan Guifei in Zhu Jianshen, Ming Xianzong. In ancient times, it was a glorious thing to guard the tomb of the royal family, because there was no need to pay taxes, and the state distributed food to you.
After the demise of the Ming Dynasty, although there was no state to distribute grain or exempt the corvee tax, the whole village lived here for more than 100 years, and there was no reason to move out. So the surname settled here and regarded it as his own village.
During the Qianlong period, a garden named Foxiangge was planned to be built in Changping District, and the village moved away. However, there is no grave keeper in Wan Guifei's tomb. The craftsman made an unspeakable mistake when building here, because in ancient times, it was a great sin to control the tombs of the former dynasty without authorization and would be beheaded.
So the craftsmen asked Qianlong for instructions and asked him what he thought. When Qianlong heard this, he followed the craftsmen to Wan Guifei's grave. When he learned this from the local population, it turned out to be the tomb of the former dynasty. Gan Long ordered the excavation and filling.
Craftsmen have to do this. Opening the tomb, the craftsman found a line written on the tomb door, "If you don't move me, I won't move you". After reading it, the craftsmen were at a loss, surprised out in a cold sweat and climbed up one after another.
Gan Long hurriedly asked what had happened. When the craftsmen told Gan Long about it, Gan Long also felt guilty. At that time, science had not been popularized. People are still full of awe and fear of ghosts and gods.
When the ministers around Qianlong saw that Qianlong's face was wrong, they immediately walked down the steps of Qianlong and said, "The dead are big, and the Buddha Pavilion was built by the emperor. It is best not to dig graves. "
After hearing this, Qianlong immediately nodded in response, then took the lead in bowing to Wan Guifei's tomb and walked home. Unfortunately, in 1937, Cheng Yanbin led a group of people to rob Wan Guifei's tomb, and all the cultural relics in the tomb were removed.
