The folklore of Longmuwan

Along the coast of Long Mu Bay, there are many fishermen who have been fishing for generations. They are full of respect and pride for this bay that supports them. Because they have been fishing at sea for many years and have gained a lot. Fishermen all think that this bay has good feng shui and is blessed by the Dragon King. Most of the legends circulated among fishermen are related to dragons.

According to local villagers, the western part of Hainan has been dry and rainy since ancient times, and the seaside is extremely hot. There are five tigers in the peak and the dragon king in the bay. They always stay out of it. Although the Dragon King envies the cool climate in the mountains, he can only dream because there are five tigers guarding the mountains. Baisha River winds into Long Mu Bay from Jianfengling. When the Dragon King is really hot, he can only drink a few mouthfuls of cool Baisha River to relieve the heat. One day, the sunset by the sea was so beautiful that five tigers could not resist the temptation and met to watch the sunset by the sea. Unexpectedly, the tiger coming down the mountain annoyed the Dragon King. They couldn't beat the Dragon King and were trapped on their way back to the mountain. After a long time, it became the Wuhu pond on the Baisha River. The Dragon King won a great victory and occupied the top of Tiger Hill. He usually lives on a fresh and cool peak ridge and bathes in the sea at the foot of the mountain when it rains heavily.
