Qingyun Tower, also known locally as "Shantailing" and "Wanzhou Tower", is located on Shantailing, 2 kilometers southeast of Wancheng Town, Wanning City, and stands a magnificent ancient pagoda, which was called "Qingyun Tower" in ancient times. Built on the mountain tail ridge, the local people also call it the "Mountain Tail Pagoda". Qingyun Pagoda is one of the rare ancient pagodas in Hainan and one of the famous scenic spots in Wanning. It has been listed as a key cultural relic in Hainan Province.
Qingyun Tower is octagonal, made of refractory bricks and sporadic stones. The tower is about 27 meters high, with seven floors and seven eaves. In the center of the top floor, an octagonal prism stands out, and a spherical tower gate is supported on the top of the column. The bottom inner wall is octagonal, and the upper six inner walls are round. Each floor has two arches in different directions, one for viewing and the other for ventilation and light transmission. There is a door in the west of the ground floor, and a rectangular stone tablet is embedded in the tower wall at the top of the door, and the word "Qingyun" is engraved on the stone tablet.
Next to it is the small print "Daoguang Renchen Yearbook". The third floor of the tower is in the same direction as the bottom tower door. There is also a stone tablet of the same size, which is engraved with the word "Jiafeng" and has fine print next to it. Because it is too high to see clearly, the tower is empty, with plenty of light and a cool breeze. Visitors can look up at the top of the tower from the west gate on the ground floor, have a panoramic view of the tower belly, and appreciate the superb architectural skills and charming scenery of the ancient tower.
Qingyun Tower is unique in charm, surrounded by rugged rocks and various shapes. Strange flowers and different grasses are lush, and bees and butterflies flock to and fro among the flowers. There is a stream under the tower, like a silver ribbon passing around the tower, and the scenery is fascinating. Boarding Qingyun Tower, you can have a panoramic view of the street view of Wancheng Tower, the south gate of other places, the peasant villages in the fields, the fishing boats on the coconut beach and the endless South China Sea. When Tian Han, a famous modern playwright and poet, boarded the Qingyun Tower, he left a famous sentence, "Wen Kui's Seven Towers, Man Cang is full of fields".
The Legend of Qingyun Tower in Wanning
There is another touching legend about Qingyun Tower. Once upon a time, a minister came down from the imperial court to inspect Dongshan. He raised his eyes and looked at it. He saw that there were tens of thousands of acres of fertile land at the foot of the mountain, and the rice waves were rolling and the weather was good. The minister couldn't help praising it. Unexpectedly, a feng shui gentleman said to the minister, "I don't think so." I have seen a dragon below. " And the day this dragonfly flies into the sky is the time when disaster comes to the world, and this fertile soil will be flooded. The only way to eliminate the disaster is to build a Feng Shui pagoda to hold the head of Qinglong, but this can save the people in this area. "
After listening to Mr. Wang's words, the minister immediately reported to the court and asked for special funds to build this "Long Ta Town". Since then, generations have been safe and rich in products. No wonder this place is called "Wan 'an" and "Wanning".
Conclusion According to the legend of Qingyun Tower, we can know that Qingyun Tower's geomantic function is to town Qinglong, so Qingyun Tower is also known as "the town of Long Ta".
