Generally speaking, it is better to place the desk facing the door. For example, the door of the study faces south, and the desk can also be placed towards the door. This is a question of direction. The direction of the desk should face the door, but the position should avoid the door, not the door. Otherwise, you can't concentrate, and this long-term work at your desk will definitely bring losses to your career. This is the most basic rule of desk placement. The desk can't face the window, otherwise it will "appear empty" and cause bad influence.
Avoid a fierce position
Four directions should be avoided when choosing the research direction.
(1) Li (south): fierce. This position is extremely sunny, and the sunshine is too strong, which is generally not suitable for reading. As far as writing is concerned, writing is a "positive" activity. But if you carefully analyze the creative process, you must observe and conceive before you start writing, so this part is also a "yin" work, where the yang is too strong, so it is a little worse.
(2) Kun (southwest): fierce. You should avoid setting up a research in this direction. This party, like the southern position, is not suitable for mental work such as reading and writing, but for manual work.
(3) Exchange (west position): Ping. This is the direction of the sunset. At first glance, it doesn't seem appropriate to set up research, but it can't be completely denied. In fact, this is a place for hard work and research, and also a good place for speech exchange. The only problem in this position is how to deal with the sunset. As long as this problem is solved, most of the study rooms are auspicious, which can be used as skylights to reduce the exposure of sunset, or skillfully use trees or sun visors.
(4) Good (northeast orientation): flat. This is also a very stable and predictable orientation. If you want to study or think calmly, this is an ideal orientation. You may have read a lot of books in this position, but you may become a random reader, or forget to eat and sleep for reading.
