At the end of the Qing dynasty, the national strength of the Qing dynasty was already very weak and gradually embarked on the road of extinction. Although the Qing Dynasty ruled in China for about 300 years, because of the differences of nationalities and customs, more people still thought that they were invaders, and they were also the chief culprit of the demise of the Ming Dynasty. Because of the national strength, the Qing dynasty did not have enough ability to protect the imperial tombs of the Qing dynasty. One of the most famous is the Qing Dynasty Mausoleum excavated by Sun Dianying. After the incident, the nobles of the Qing Dynasty were shocked and demanded that grave robbers be severely punished, but Sun Dianying thought it was just revenge, and there was history to decide right and wrong.
Secondly, in order to win people's hearts, the Qing Dynasty sent people to guard the Ming Tombs. In order to show great respect to this dynasty that has become history, and to appease the people, they also repaired the Ming Tombs, which also gave some good views to the rulers of the Qing Dynasty to some extent. This role is still quite big. Therefore, there is no reason for the Ming tombs that can be protected in the Qing Dynasty to be stolen after the demise of the Qing Dynasty. Another reason is that the location of the Ming emperor's mausoleum is more in line with the geomantic theory than that of the Qing dynasty, which is safer and more reliable, and many people dare not touch it.
No matter which era the imperial tombs should be protected, they are all treasures of the Chinese nation, and what is lost is irreparable. We must cherish them now.
