Located on the north bank of Kunlun River, Kunlun Spring is the largest unfrozen spring in Kunlun Mountain. The mountain range is almost completely unaffected by the monsoon climate of the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. On the contrary, it is under the continuous influence of continental air mass, causing great fluctuations in annual and daily temperatures. The central part of the mountain system is the driest, while the climate in the west and east is slightly milder.
