Throughout the ages, this beautiful landscape has nurtured generations of sages and great men: Fu Weng, the originator of acupuncture and moxibustion, Zhang Yazi, the emperor of Wenchang, Ouyang Xiu, the great master of poetry and painting, Wen Tong, a talented scholar in Shu, Sha Ting, a literary master, Deng Jiaxian and other scientists.
Long years and a long history. According to historical research, as early as 20,000 years ago, there were ancient human activities on both sides of the Pingtong River under Mianyang's jurisdiction. More than 3,000 years ago, the Sichuan Basin was divided into two slave countries, Bashu and Sichuan, with today's Fujiang as the boundary. Mianyang, located on the border of Bashu, has become not only the transportation hub of the two countries, but also the meeting point of their cultures. When Shu Han flourished, Mianyang's position was more prominent, and there was a saying that Shu Han rose and fell in Fucheng. During the Tang and Song Dynasties, Mianyang, located in the northwest of Sichuan and relatively stable for a long time, attracted many famous literati to travel and live in Mianzhou. Yang Jiong, Lu, known as the "four outstanding men in the early Tang Dynasty", visited Mianzhou successively and wrote immortal poems. Du Fu, a great poet, lived in the Mian Dynasty and wrote dozens of magnificent poems, such as Song of the King's Tower. Scholars such as Li Shangyin, a poet in the late Tang Dynasty, and Li Mao, a Persian poet in China, also lived for a long time, bringing rich foreign civilizations and promoting the prosperity of Mianyang culture, many of which became treasures of China culture.
