The legend of Wo Niu City

First there was Woniu City, and then there was Maiqiu Yi. Shanghe City resembles a lying cow, so according to old legend, Taishang Laojun's mount Qingniu stole the elixir and was demoted here. At that time, this place was a desolate and barren land. The Jade Emperor punished the oxen to plow and cultivate the land. Soon it became a fertile farmland. The ancestors planted wheat on this land, hence the name "Wheat Hill". There was a sinister rich man who wanted to seize the cow as his own. He bribed Master Zhang and asked Taishang Laojun to make a pair of iron-nose pliers and pierce the cow's nose. Then he put a rein on the cow and took it to his home. One day, the sacred cow took advantage of people's unpreparedness, broke away from the reins and headed southwest. In the melon field outside Fangang Temple in Liqiu (now Linyi), the sacred cow was resting and grazing. It was discovered by Pi San, a southern fortune teller who traveled here. The Feng Shui master knew that it was a treasure, so he suddenly had evil thoughts and picked the golden melon. Hit the sacred cow. The sacred cow was injured and ran southward with a low cry. Pi San chased it to the foot of Huashan Mountain, forced it into a cave, and forced it to pull out the golden mill hidden underground. The sacred cow had a melon wound on its body, a nose pierced by iron pincers, and was restrained by Pi San. It had been tortured for months and months. When the golden mill was pulled out of the ground, the sacred cow fled out of the cave due to weightlessness, ran a short distance to the west and died of exhaustion. The place where the sacred bull pulled Jin Mo to death became a hill, which is now the Jinniu Mountain in Jinan Zoo. The statue known as the "No. 1 Cow in the World" stands there. There is also a statue of the golden bull running southward in Linyi City.
