In addition to offering sacrifices to Buddhist relics, the towers built in ancient times, from the perspective of geomantic omen, can play the role of suppressing evil and eliminating pests, changing the fate of a place, and can also play the role of lightning protection, and can also be used by rulers to praise their merits, thus being immortal.
Nowadays, pagodas are generally used to commemorate, such as the Erqi Memorial Pagoda and the Bayi Memorial Pagoda. It also played a role in tourism. For example, the pagodas in some scenic spots appeared and developed as Buddhist buildings, but in the later period, that is, the Ming and Qing Dynasties, pagodas began to move from the religious world to the secular world on a large scale and became common towns in Kanyu studies. All towers with geomantic significance, such as Zhenshan, Zhenshui, exorcism, embellishment of rivers and mountains, display of enlightenment, etc., are called geomantic towers.
Feng Shui Pagoda is generally built in Shuikou, which is a beautiful view of a county, a city and a township. Some towers are designed to make up for topographical defects.
Among the buildings left over from ancient times, there is a special one called the tower. There are two kinds of pagodas, one is stupa, the other is Feng Shui Pagoda, also called Wenfeng Pagoda. The stupa is mainly built in a temple, protected and repaired by monks, well preserved and left behind. Feng shui pagodas are often neglected in protection and lost in various natural and man-made disasters.
The stupa originated in ancient India and was originally used to bury the remains of Sakyamuni for Buddhist believers to worship. Later, Buddhism was introduced into China and developed into a stupa with oriental characteristics. The Feng Shui Pagoda is modeled after the Buddha Pagoda.
Feng Shui Pagoda rose in the early Ming Dynasty (A.D.14th century) and was influenced by the prevailing Feng Shui theory at that time. A number of Feng Shui pagodas came into being, and almost every county and even every township has one, which is spectacular. Feng shui is mainly used to regulate the water in the mountains, supplement the terrain, relieve floods and attract auspicious atmosphere. The establishment of the tower is regarded as a major event of "prospering local pulse" and "rejuvenating mankind" and is highly valued.
