Zhixiang Temple, located in Tianziyu, 30km south of Xi in Zhong Nanshan, is the birthplace of Huayan Sect of Buddhism. Walk slowly along the narrow path to the west of Tianziyu, and you can reach Zhixiang Temple in about an hour. In the early days of Emperor Wendi's rule, it was founded by the master Tong Yuan. It was rebuilt in the Tang Dynasty. After destruction. The Qing Dynasty was rebuilt by the abbot of Master Haigan. During the Republic of China, Master Fa Liang and Master Yuan Kang were rebuilt. The existing buildings, such as Ursa Major Hall, Wei Tuo Hall and Liao Fang, were all built in the 25th year of the Republic of China (1936). The legal system of Zhixiang Temple is Hua Yanzong, and the famous founders are Zhi Yan, Fa Zang and Xiang Yi. The temple has the tomb cover of Ji Zang, the ancestor of Sanlun Sect, several ancient pagodas and ginkgo trees in the Tang Dynasty, a tomb tower and five inscriptions.
Zhixiang Temple has a magnificent terrain. The temple is located on the ridge, sitting from west to east, commanding and with a wide view. Zhixiang Temple flourished in the Tang Dynasty. According to legend, Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty, visited here many times to make pilgrimages. There is an inscription in the temple saying, "The south main vein is tied in it." Therefore, this temple is not only a famous Buddhist temple, but also a scenic spot in central and southern China. There is a large area of oak forest around the back hall of the temple, with towering ancient trees and elegant scenery. There was once a geomantic master who sighed after observing the geographical location of the temple: Zhixiang Temple occupies the best geographical location, which is really auspicious! Do not believe you see, Xiang Si's back is on the protruding dragon's back, and the front is on the erect hump; The left side leans against the dragon head and the right side faces the tiger. Carrying yin and yang, the spirit is lush. Looking at the mountains in the east, the mountains are stacked; Overlooking the fertile land of Qinchuan in the north, I can remember it vividly.
In recent years, Buddhists, experts and scholars from Korea, Japan and Taiwan Province Province have visited the temple many times and raised some donations. With the approval of the government, Zhixiang Temple was rebuilt and approved as a place for religious activities. Now there are more than 20 permanent monks in the temple. According to the religious policy, the land and forests in the temple area are gradually being restored, and the revival of Xiang Si Temple is just around the corner.
