The origin was founded by Lai Chatian, the ancestor of the ancestral wood carving fine art workshop, in the early years of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty. The surviving works of his great-grandfather Lai Ronglin are unknown. The surviving works of his grandfather Lai Yuanshun include the wood carvings of Sanfang Temple in Dacheng Town, Fengtang Town (now being renovated, and the wood carving work is undertaken by Lai Peitian, the founder of the Ancestral Wood Carving Art Workshop). The more famous works of his father, Lai Senhe, include the wood carvings of Tianhou Temple in Fangjishan, Mayu, Shantou, the Tianhou Temple in Suocheng, Pengzhou, and the niches and tables of Guanye Palace in Jieyang Fortress (all of which are cultural protection units). Qing Hou studied with his father Lai Senhe. With his persistent pursuit of wood carving art and his father's careful teaching, he studied hard and studied seriously. Finally, hard work paid off, and I soon became proficient in various techniques from selecting wood carving materials to making. In the course of 36 years of work, with the help of his father and Wuhua colleagues, he created some wood carving crafts and achieved certain results.

Having been in the industry for more than 30 years, I have been meticulous in learning every process and strive for excellence. He quickly became proficient in various techniques and techniques of Chaozhou gold lacquer wood carving such as trimming and blanking. Then he developed a great interest in wood carving pattern design. Since 1985, he has been studying the wood carving pattern design of Master He Dasheng of Shantou. Based on the characteristics of Chaozhou gold lacquer wood carvings, he can design a batch of wood carving patterns that embody the Chaozhou gold lacquer. Wood carving has the characteristics of multi-layer hollowing, but it is easy to advance and move the knife; it is dense and dense, and it is strong and durable. In the design process, we absorb the essence of our predecessors and incorporate our own ideas, gradually improving our own level and forming our own style. Received unanimous praise from peers.
