Historical evolution of Guilin Normal College

The predecessor of Guilin Normal College is Guangxi Provincial Guilin Normal School. It was founded in August 1938 and is located in Dalingxin Village, Liangjiang Town, Lingui County. In January 1950, Guilin Women's Normal School was merged into the school, taking over the Nanjing Jiji Middle School that had been evacuated to Guilin. The school moved to Ronghu Road, Guilin City. In February 1954, it moved to No. 21, Xinyi Road, Guilin City. In April 1983, it was renamed Guilin District Teachers Training College. In March 1988, it was renamed Guilin Regional Education College. On December 28, 1998, Guilin Regional Education College and Guilin Municipal Education College merged to form Guilin Municipal Education College. On September 30, 2000, Guilin Education College and Guilin Normal School merged to form Guilin Normal College. (Divided into Xinyi Campus and Jiashan Campus) In January 2010, a new campus was planned to be built in Lingui Town, Lingui County, Guilin City. In November 2014, Guilin Economic Management Cadre Secondary Vocational School was placed under the overall management of the school and established the East Ring Campus.
