Julong Village, also known as "Kuangjia Village", was built in the fifth year of Guangxu (1879) by a group of overseas Chinese of Kuang family whose ancestral home is Taishan. Julong Village is located between Longxi and Zhaocun in Chongkou Street, and the entrance of the village faces a bay river. The reconstructed river bank is covered with ancient banyan trees, and it still has pastoral scenery. Julong Village now covers an area of more than 5,200 square meters, with three rows of old houses and 20 rooms.
There is a well-preserved ancient architectural complex of Qing Dynasty-Julong Village in Fangcun, Guangzhou. It is said that this ancient village with a history of more than 1 10 is still inhabited by hundreds of men, women and children. The blue brick house in Julong Village, the wall root is made of a whole piece of hemp stone, and the gray carving on the window lintel is painted with rich and auspicious patterns. The door of the big house is divided into several layers, from the outside to the inside, there are corner doors, gates and gates in turn.
The interior design of Julong Village is similar. There are three screen doors in the hall. The wood carvings of many screens have faded due to age, but they have added simplicity and elegance. The two sides of the hall are symmetrical, with four rooms arranged on each side. There are five rooms on the second floor, and some colorful windows are embedded with poems.
In the alley, I also saw several "oyster shell houses", with blue bricks as columns and oyster shells as walls. Compared with the "oyster shell house" next to the school, it has a larger scale and a higher wall, almost two stories high. The difference is that even the pillars of the oyster shell house next to the school are made of oyster shells.
Julong Village covers an area of more than 5,200 square meters and is located in a large blue brick house with uniform appearance and consistent design. The architectural features of these ancient houses are quite similar to those of xiguan big house. The ancient building complex of Julong Village was built in the fifth year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1879), and was built by the Kuang clan in Taishan, Guangdong. It is one of the most complete ancient residential buildings in Guangzhou. Existing houses 19, all of which are two-story blue brick buildings.
