Introduction of Longkou Artificial Island
Longkou artificial island group is located in the south of Longkou Bay in Bohai Sea, Longkou City, Shandong Province. The project starts about 2 kilometers south of the main channel of Longkou Port in the north, starts from the existing coastline in the east and reaches the boundary of Longkou and Zhaoyuan sea area in the west. It is one of the nine core areas of "centralized and intensive use of the sea" in Shandong. According to the approval, the project will build seven artificial islands, and the average cost of land reclamation is basically the same as the cost of demolition in the new area. It is the largest artificial archipelago in China and the fourth largest in the world, with a national investment of 654.38 billion. This is the biggest investment in the construction of Bohai Bay. It covers an area of 45 square kilometers.
