There are four main sources of Lu surnames: Zhuan Xu, Gui surnames, Yun surnames and other nationalities' changed surnames.
From Zhuan Xu: According to legend, people named after the son of Zhuan Xu are distributed in Ruhe area in the southeast of Henan Province. Laotong's son Laotong and Laotong's two sons, Li, successively served as Zhu Rong's dependents in the times. From Gui family: During the Warring States period, Tian, the youngest son, was named Lu, and later generations took Lu as their surname. Luxiang is the residence of Guluzhong, now Lingxian County, Shandong Province. Gui surnamed Lu also has a history of more than 2300 years. From the surname of Yun: On the weekend in the west, a group of Rong people surnamed Yun in the west entered Luogu at the northern foot of Qinling Mountains. This place is the original residence of Lu Zhong, whose eldest son is Kunwu. The Rong people living in Luogu referred to Lu Zhong's Kunwu as Lv Kun for short, and because of the sound change, it was called Lu Hunrong in history. During the Spring and Autumn Period in 525 BC, Jin Qinggong destroyed the Xiongnu, and later generations took the country as their surname, calling it a member of China. Changing surnames from other ethnic groups: In addition to the "plain land" with Lutong as its ancestor, it was also called "the land of Henan" because of the reform carried out by Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty, which was changed by Liu of Xianbei nationality.
