What does the old saying mean: "It would be better to let the blue dragon be taller than to let the white tiger look up"?

Rural residents have a lot to pay attention to when building a house. When choosing a location to build a house, they should avoid the gate being too close to the mountain, and it should also be in a sunny place. If the lighting is not good, it means it is a little dark, or even There are also sayings such as Zuo Fu and You Bi in Feng Shui.

But there is no such saying. It is better to let the blue dragon be taller than to let the white tiger look up. So what does this sentence mean? Why would someone apply this to building houses on rural homesteads? Let me share it with you. What does it mean to rather let the green dragon be ten thousand feet high than to let the white tiger look up?

The green dragon and white tiger here originate from a saying in the Book of Changes, which was introduced in the Book of Changes in the past. Before humans had writing, Emperor Fuxi invented Bagua. Later, King Wen of Zhou deduced the eighty-eight-sixty hexagrams based on the gossip left by Fuxi. Each of the eighty-eight and sixty-four hexagrams here has a corresponding rhetoric, and it is also called the source of the great road.

Taoism absorbed the Bagua theory and created its own set of religious theology. Based on the four different star positions in the Bagua, the theory of the Four Symbols (Four Gods) was proposed. These four images correspond to the green dragon in the east (left), the white tiger in the west (right), the red bird in the north (front), and the basalt in the south (back). In fact, they also correspond to the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter.

Qinglong also refers to a kind of dragon. The dragon was an auspicious omen in ancient times, but the white tiger is different. We have only heard that tigers can hurt people. Although tigers are also guardian beasts, they are also ferocious beasts. The momentum of the white tiger overpowers the blue dragon, which is an unlucky phenomenon. Therefore, there is such an old saying that has been passed down, which means that the white tiger cannot be overshadowed by the green dragon. Is there any connection between White Tiger and Green Dragon and building houses in rural areas? No connection at all!

Some people say that when building a house, the wall on the west side cannot be allowed, or that the house on the west side should not be built higher than the house on the east side. This is completely nonsense. What does this take the ancient Feng Shui metaphysics to mean? A few bricks and tiles can correspond to the four images they are referring to? The theory of the Four Symbols here actually refers to the mountains, which means that the house cannot be built in the west if the mountains are higher than in the east. It is not about the few bricks and tiles.

The rural areas we live in now have been selected for us by generations of ancestors. Those ancestors have much better Feng Shui knowledge than we do now. It is impossible for them to choose a place that is unfavorable in terms of hexagrams to build a house. Therefore, when building a house on a homestead, you don't need to worry about it at all, unless you are going to a remote mountain forest where no one lives, or a place far away from the village where no one is building a house, then it may have something to do with building a house. Since this sentence has nothing to do with rural residents building houses, why is it spread in some places?

In fact, the theory of the Four Symbols is that the emperors and dignitaries in the past selected cemeteries for their ancestors and invited some Feng Shui masters to select the sites. The tombs are built in uninhabited places and among mountains and rivers. After the tombs are built, they should not be moved again. Therefore, people who worshiped theology at that time would choose a so-called geomantic treasure place for their ancestors.

However, after liberation, with the popularization of people's knowledge and the development of various technologies, these theories of strange powers and chaotic gods were squeezed out of the market. There are very few people asking to survey and select graves. Those Feng Shui masters have to eat, right? Some people can only spread rumors that it is related to building houses in rural areas rather than letting the white tiger look up.

As for whether what I said makes sense, you can look at real life and you will find that the phenomenon of the house on the right being higher than your own home is very common. Even if some people say that the west side of their house cannot be higher than the east side, it makes no sense. The sun does not rise from the west, and a higher west side will not affect the lighting of the house.

Taking a step back, do those who believe in Feng Shui really think that a few simple bricks and tiles will affect the overall Feng Shui of a family? This is too childish. To sum up, the sentence "I would rather let the green dragon be ten thousand feet high than let the white tiger look up" has nothing to do with building houses in rural areas, and naturally it makes no sense at all.

For those farmers who like to pay attention to Feng Shui, I would like to give them a sentence that my ancestors said in the past: Blessed land and blessed people live in it, and blessed people live in blessed land. The greatest Feng Shui refers to people, not to relying on people. Calculated, good family tradition and family training are stronger than any other feng shui.
