Where is the Niuwang Temple in Neiqiu?

Niuwang Temple in Neiqiu is a cultural tourist attraction.

Niuwang Temple is located on a mound in the west of Neiqiu City 13km south of Taiwan Village in Mong Kok. It is an existing Qing dynasty building. There are three immortals in the center of the hall (also known as the three saints among the people), namely, the ox king, the five roads on the left and the land on the right. Under the Three Sages are two assistants of Niu Wang, on the left is Dr. Zhao, a full-time veterinarian who specializes in treating cattle and horses and other livestock diseases, and on the right is Xiao Zhang, a shepherd boy who specializes in herding and taming cattle. According to the local people, Niu Wang is a Taoist priest. Because I value this land of geomantic omen, I have been practicing here for a long time, especially cattle and horses. People often ask him to treat livestock and enjoy high prestige in the local area. After his death, he was regarded as the king of cattle and built a temple here for sacrifice.

There is an ancient theater in front of Niuwang Temple to the right, which is used by people to sing during the temple fair to thank the great kindness of Niuwangye. According to Wang Jiaotai's village age, there used to be three small temples opposite the theater, dedicated to the "King of Driving Cows". Speaking of this theater, it is simply a treasure of local tyrants. There is a folk song: "From Nanjing to Beijing, only the theater here has a photo booth." Its preciousness lies in that the stage and the studio are closely connected to form a theater building. If a wall is built around the studio, it is no different from a complete modern theater. It can be said that it is the predecessor of modern theater. The whole building is a brick-wood structure, which consists of two parts: the stage and the photo booth. The stage is divided into the front desk, the backstage and the ticket hole at the bottom of the stage. There are walls on three sides of the background, and there are round holes on the main wall, which have the functions of ventilation, exhaust and lighting. There are two pillars in the middle of the stage, and curtains can be drawn to divide the stage into two stages. The front desk is open on three sides, with an area three times larger than the background and a convex shape. There are four white marble pillars at the entrance of the platform, lined up in a row, with a long distance in the middle as the stage of the performance. At the bottom of the platform, there is a south-north voucher hole, which is made of bluestone and gray brick. There is a door in and out at the south end, and an opening on the ground at the north end. Usually covered with slate, open drainage in rainy season. The voucher hole is not only used as a drainage tunnel, but also has many functions such as dubbing on stage, silencing under stage, ventilation and cooling. It is both a loudspeaker and an air conditioner. The preservation of Niuwang Temple and Opera House has a lot to do with this coupon cave, because Niuwang Temple and Opera House are both built on mounds. If the mound overflows in all directions, it will disappear after hundreds of years of erosion. The point is that there is only one exit for the whole mound.

The date of the establishment of Niuwang Temple is unknown. According to the genealogy of Wang in Wangjiaotai Village, in the 11th year of Kangxi, the Wang family moved from Luoping County (now Xiyang County) in Shanxi Province to Jiaotai Village in Neiqiu County, Zhili, and the third generation of Wang Bingyin managed the family diligently. The fourth generation of Wang Tiande, as the guild leader, rebuilt the Niuwang Temple, inferring that the Niuwang Temple had existed in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. Judging from the existing inscriptions, Niuwang Temple and its theater were rebuilt in the fifth year of the Republic of China, the Jiaqing period of Daoguang and the twenty-second year of the Republic of China, which shows that Niuwang Temple was very popular at that time.
