1. Clocks. "Zhong" has the same pronunciation with "end", and table has the same pronunciation with "bitch"; especially "send the clock" will remind the elderly of "send the end", which is very unlucky.
2. Pears. Fruit is one of the most common gifts when visiting relatives and friends. But some fruits are not suitable, especially pears, because "pear" and "li" are homophonic, so it is not suitable to give them to couples or lovers.
3. Shoes. "Shoes" and "evil" have the same pronunciation, and shoes are stepped on, so you generally don't give shoes to others except your own family. But there are some exceptions.
