Sheyang River is undoubtedly a masterpiece of nature. It used to be a passage connecting Sheyang Lake with the sea. As early as the Chu-Han War, there was a man named Xiang Bo who helped Liu Bang escape from danger at the Hongmen banquet. After Liu Bang won the world, he was named the Hou of Sheyang. The lake belonging to his fief was named Sheyang Lake, and this long river is also famous for Sheyang Lake. In Funing, Yancheng, people use such a folk legend to interpret the formation of Sheyang River: According to legend, God saw that Zhong Ling in the east of Huaidong was often ravaged by floods, so he sent an old sheep and a group of lambs to dig a river in Huaidong to drain the floods. Every time the old sheep meets a village in the process of digging a river, it naturally turns around and reaches the seaside, forming this curved river. People call it "Xieyang River" to thank the old sheep.
Sheyang River, with a total length of 178km, runs from Lixia water network area to the mouth of the Yellow Sea, just like a winding dragon, spanning the land of Central Jiangsu. In the morning, the rising sun rises, and the river is silvery; In the evening, when the sun sets, there is a touch of red clouds hanging on the horizon, fishermen cast nets, and intermittent songs form the ink painting of fishermen singing late; At night, the Sheyang River is brightly lit, and the water surges to melt the fatigue during the day, rippling with warm stories.
