Beijing, due to its geographical location, has many sections of the Great Wall scenic spots.
Among them, the well-known ones are Badaling, Mutianyu, Simatai, Jiankou, Huanghuacheng, and Jinshanling. There are also some that are not so famous but have fewer tourists, such as Shuiguan Great Wall and Badaling Ancient Park. The Great Wall and other Great Walls.
However, if we say the one with the least number of tourists, it must be the Xiangshui Lake Great Wall.
The Xiangshui Lake Great Wall is located in Huairou District, Beijing. It is named after the nearby "Xiangshui Lake". Xiangshui Lake Great Wall is only 10 kilometers away from Mutianyu Great Wall. Many tourists go to Mutianyu, but not many people come here. Therefore, if you want to avoid the bustling crowds and take photos of the empty Great Wall, Xiangshui Lake Great Wall is a good choice.
The entrance to the Xiangshui Lake Great Wall is the "Moshikou Pass". Since ancient times, this has been a border fortress and a battleground for military strategists.
The pass at Moshikou Pass is very narrow. The Great Wall on both sides of the city tower drops sharply along the mountain. The water below the tower is rushing out. Many years later, the stones on both sides were polished very smooth, so it was called "Grind Stone Pass".
The Xiangshui Lake Great Wall in winter is cool and elegant, like a handsome young man in troubled times, standing against the wind.
The first beacon tower after entering from Moshi Pass has been repaired.
This beacon tower is rare. You can climb the stairs from the first floor to the beacon tower on the second floor. Most beacon towers on the second floor can only be viewed from the outside and cannot be climbed up.
The inside of the beacon tower is very large. It is also the only beacon tower I have seen so far that is not connected in the middle but has a barrier - you need to build stairs to climb to the second floor.
Because of the barrier and the many windows on all sides of the beacon tower, the interior of the first floor is like a maze. You can get around yourself by turning a few turns.
Any time you look out the window through a passage, you will see a scene, a piece of history, and a story.
There is no wind in the attic on the second floor and it is very warm. The guardian beast on the eaves is delicate and cute, but also rich in vicissitudes of life.
We only climbed this beacon tower and then returned. There is always snow on the steps of the Xiangshui Lake Great Wall, but we have been to Juyongguan Great Wall and Badaling Shuiguan Great Wall before, and there was no snow on them. Maybe it's because of the geographical location, it's colder here.
The source of Xiangshui Lake is a tinkling spring. Because the spring gushes like a gush and the water sounds like thunder, it can be heard thousands of meters away, so it is named "Xiangshui Lake".
We originally wanted to take a look at the source of Xiangshui Lake, but the mountain road was rugged and full of rocks. It was impossible to drive up there by car, and there was no parking lot below, so we gave up.
But on the roadside, I saw an ice waterfall in the picture above.
Although the icefall is small, it has the artistic conception of Kanas. The ice waterfall is as white as snow, the water is as green as blue, and the reflection is like a mirror. It is a wonderful winter scene.
This pool is called "Xiangshuitan". The ice waterfall is naturally formed by the spring water of Xiangshui Lake flowing down from the mountain.
This is the first time I have seen the beautiful reflection of an icefall in the water. Although the icefall is small, the water is clear and the reflection is very beautiful.
Before Xiangshuitan, there is also a "Mother and Child Waterfall". A wonder of ice waterfalls and gurgling water, singing and jumping for joy in winter.
The icefalls are not big. What is rare is that they are naturally formed, not artificial.
I have never been to Xiangshui Lake in summer. I wonder if it would be more attractive without these ice waterfalls.

1. Driving to the Xiangshui Lake Great Wall is more convenient, because there is still a long way from the entrance to the Great Wall. If you do not enter by car, you have to take the scenic area car. We spent more than 3 hours in the scenic area and saw only a few private cars and less than 10 tourists.
2. It is very cold here at the Xiangshui Lake Great Wall. There is snow on the steps and the wind is strong. Please keep warm.
3. The icefall is still a few kilometers away from the Great Wall. You have to pass the Great Wall first and then drive a section of mountain road.
4. Several ice falls are not big, but they are very impressive.
