According to historical records, after the Five Dynasties, Zhao, a native of the Tang Dynasty, relied on his status as a relative of the country to accept bribes and pervert the law, which caused the local people to suffer oppression, complain, anger and hatred for Zhao. Therefore, when Zhao was dismissed later, Songzhou people rushed to tell stories, clapping their hands and saying, "It's an honor to pull out the eyesore!"
After the Song and Yuan Dynasties, the usage of the word "eyesore" gradually spread and has been used by people ever since.
