Fengshui in Mashi Bieyuan

What's your impression of Nanjing? Is it a land of feng shui in the eyes of emperors and generals, a city of sadness after a bonfire, or a misty rain beside Qinhuai full of poetry?

Nanjing is a famous cultural city with a long history. It has a history of more than 6,000 years of civilization, which is destined to be unique and difficult to imitate in other cities, because it comes from an ancient civilization.

Nanjing, the core of this city, you need to dig slowly and experience it carefully to better appreciate its beauty.

But if you travel to Nanjing specially, it is impossible for ordinary people to spend a long time.

There are so many scenic spots in Nanjing that every scenic spot is remarkable. Therefore, it is best to choose the more representative scenic spots in this city for a short stay to deepen your impression of this city. For example, the following five scenic spots are highly recommended.

Five scenic spots that Nanjing must visit, each of which is classic.

Qinhuai River is the mother river of Nanjing, which is very famous in history and is known as "the first historical and cultural river in China".

This is what the "Six Dynasties smoke area, gold powder gathering place" said.

If you come to Nanjing, you must experience Qinhuai River in the shadow of paddle lights here at night.

I wonder how many literati have been fascinated by this place since ancient times.

Known as "Shili Qinhuai", the scenic spots in the area include Dongshuiguan Ruins Park, Qinhuai River Shuige, Taoyedu, Bailuzhou Park, Jiangnan, Cuiyuan Park, Wang Xie 'an Memorial Hall, Li's former residence, Zhanyuan, former residence, Shen Wansan's former residence, Zhonghua Gate Wengcheng, Xishuiguan and so on.

Painting boats on Qinhuai River is the best way to visit the scenic belt of Qinhuai River in Confucius Temple.

Meiling Palace is a famous scenic spot in Nanjing. Many beautiful articles on the Internet are based on the love story between Chiang Kai-shek and Song Meiling.

In fact, this official residence was originally used as a resting place for senior state officials. Later, after the Kuomintang moved its capital to Nanjing, it became the official residence of Chiang Kai-shek. Chiang Kai-shek and Song Meiling often spend their holidays here and receive dignitaries, so it is also called Meiling Palace.

The terrain here is high and wide, and the field of vision is wide. You can visit the Ming Tombs and Sun Yat-sen Tombs.

Nearby is the National Revolutionary Army Survivor School founded by Song Meiling himself.

Seen from the air, the Meiling Palace surrounded by buttonwood trees looks like a pendant of a jewel necklace.

This is a highlight of Meiling Palace, and another feature is that you must not let go of more than 1000 phoenix sculptures around the glazed tile roof of the main building, which is very distinctive. Just rent an interpreter to listen to the story and visit the room.

This is Liu Yuxi's Wuyi Xiang. This poem contains infinite melancholy, reposing the prosperity of Qinhuai River in the past and lamenting the vicissitudes of today.

Wuyi Lane, located in the south bank of Qinhuai District, is one of the oldest and most famous Gu Xiang in China. Walking through the Wende Bridge on the Qinhuai River, the word "Wuyi Lane" came into view.

The name Wuyi Lane originated when Sun Quan made Nanjing his capital. During the Three Kingdoms period, this was the barracks of the army of Wu defending Stone Town.

It witnessed the rise and fall of two families in Xie Wang, leaving a legendary story of Xie An, the famous commander in chief of the Battle of Feishui in history.

There is a long historical story of Nanjing here. Even though Wuyi Lane that we see now was built later, it still does not prevent us from looking for the legend of Nanjing in the past through it.

4. Nanjing Ming City Wall

The Ming City Wall was built in 1366 and completed in the last years of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty, which lasted nearly 30 years.

It is not only the best preserved ancient city wall in China, but also the largest preserved ancient city wall in the world.

Zhu Yuanzhang, the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty, had a group of capable people. They suggested to Zhu Yuanzhang that Nanjing should be the base area so that he could advance and retreat freely.

So Zhu Yuanzhang decided to overhaul the city wall, so there was this magnificent city wall composed of four walls, covering an area of 230 square kilometers, which can be called an architectural miracle in human history.

The Ming City Wall is a must-see spot for traveling to Nanjing. Standing on the high wall, you can have a panoramic view of Xuanwu Lake.

It is the mausoleum of Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, and Ma Shi, the empress of the Ming Dynasty. It is located at the foot of Mount Qomolangma, Dulong Mansion at the southern foot of Nanjing Purple Mountain. It is the largest imperial tomb in Nanjing and one of the largest in China.

There are two classics in Ming Tombs, one is never stolen, and the other is Shi Xiang Road, which represents the highest level of architectural art and stone carving art in Ming Dynasty.

If you want to go to the Ming Tombs, I suggest you buy a package ticket with Meiling Palace, because you will arrive at Meiling Palace soon after going out from Gate 5 of the Ming Tombs. Visiting the Ming Tombs in the morning and the Meiling Palace in the afternoon is just right.

Nanjing is a city with too many memories. Nanjing's bustling clouds and heavy history always attract waves of people to come here, looking for an old dream of an ancient city and a love affair in this life.
