After the fall of Northeast China, he transferred to Northeast University of Political Science and Law to study. From then on, he began a secret anti-Japanese activity. 1935 came to Taozipu reclamation area in the west of Suiyuan as an exiled student, and then participated in the establishment of the anti-Japanese base area. /kloc-officially enlisted in 0/937, and joined the China * * * production party in the same year. 1939 served as the captain of the Anti-Japanese Coalition Corps, and later served as the chief of staff of the 10th regiment. After arriving in Jidong, he served as chief of staff of Jidong Military Division and deputy chief of staff of Hebei, Hebei and Liaoning Military Regions. 1940 was reorganized into the 10 Infantry Regiment of the Eighth Route Army Jinchaji Military Region in the spring, with Bai Yihua as the head and Cai Shan as the chief of staff. He was ordered to advance to Pingbei and open up anti-Japanese guerrilla base areas behind enemy lines in Feng (Ning), Luan (Ping) and Mi (Yun).

Shortly after the establishment of the military department, Huang Xichuan, chief of staff and special technician of the Tang Dynasty in the Jinchaji Military Region, led a dozen technicians to work in eastern Hebei.
Machinery and equipment used in military production are all blocked by various relations and transported from enemy-occupied areas to liberated areas. The model is not uniform, the old and the new are inconsistent, the lack of east and the lack of west are not matched, and the workers process parts and modify them. It takes a lot of explosives to make grenades, mines and shells, but this raw material is not available in rural areas and needs to be bought back from the city for smuggling. Explosives belong to military materials, and the enemy has a strict blockade on them, so it is difficult to buy them. Technician Huang studied with the workers and came up with a way to replace some explosives with chaff, that is, to crush the explosives and mix them with chaff to fill the shells. After testing, the effect is very good. When a Grenade explodes, it can cost sixty or seventy dollars. Commanders reported that the grenades we produced were powerful, and the soldiers were all from last stand. Some people called them "hand guns".

This drama reflects the theme of the people and their troops' resistance to the fascist violence of "gathering families and merging villages" by the Japanese aggressors. At the behest of the head of the military region, they rushed to the military region to perform a commemorative performance.
On the morning of July 3rd, 1945, Cai Shan led more than 80 literary and art fighters from the Qianbing Drama Club and the Great Wall Drama Club, and under the escort of Gengzhaojiang, the detachment leader of Zunhua County, left the east bank of Luanhe River in the hinterland of 15 Military Division for yutian county, where the military organs were stationed.
At 9 o'clock in the evening, when there was still 15 miles from Lujiayu, the original camp, the speed of marching became slower and slower because of the fatigue of lesbians and small comrades. So Cai Shan decided to spend the night in Yangjiayu.
Yangjiayu is a mountain village near Yutian and Feng Run, surrounded by mountains on three sides, and a dry river runs through the village, forming a street in Henan and Hebei. There are two drama clubs and county brigade comrades living in Hebei Street.

Then, fierce gunfire rang out from the Xiaogan River. So Cai Shan ordered the comrades on the assembly ground to retreat to an alley, and the security forces fought back on the edge of Hebei. Due to the enemy's heavy artillery and firepower, the guard troops had to retreat to the alley.
After the hutong was surrounded by the enemy, Cai Shan ordered the troops to break through before dawn. The guard troops are in front, lesbians and young comrades are in the middle, except for the seriously wounded who are assisted by male comrades, all the lightly wounded follow the breakthrough, and comrades with combat experience stay at the end. The comrades in the drama club only have two grenades each, except that the cadres have several short rifles and handyman's rifles. The breakout troops concentrated all their firepower and rushed out of the alley. At this time, it was still not bright, and with the misty morning fog, the enemy couldn't figure out all the ins and outs of us, and a row of grenades thrown by the breakout team surrounded it and flashed a way. The breakout team took the opportunity to rush out of the village.
When the breakout team rushed to the western hillside of the village, they were stopped by enemy machine guns on the mountain. The guards suffered heavy casualties and were forced to retreat to the foot of the mountain. At this time, the gunfire was getting tighter and tighter, and the village was noisy. Only the gunfire on the southwest mountain is sparse. When the breakout team turned to the southwest hillside, the enemy ambushing on the mountain suddenly opened fire and pinned the breakout team under the dam at the foot of the mountain. At this time, there are only more than 20 people left in the team. Except for a few guards, most of them are lesbians, handymen and the wounded.
After dawn, the breakout team found the enemy's red flag on Dongshan, and the gunfire at the red flag was even more fierce. Cai Shan pointed to Dongshan, where the red flag fluttered, and ordered Wang and Vice President, instructors of the Great Wall Drama Club, to lead lesbians and young comrades to break through eastward. Before Wang could speak, Cai Shan and Huang Tian jumped over the dam with several wounded guards and soldiers in order to attract the enemy's fire, and quickly dashed west. The red flag on Dongshan pointed to Xishan, and gunshots suddenly sounded on Xishan. Wang, led the breakout team to run eastward.
A dozen people, including Cai Shan and Huang Tian, gathered in a vineyard at the foot of the Western Hills to cover the team's breakthrough. At this time, all the comrades with guns were left with the last bullet. They didn't seem to hear the roar of the enemy soldiers and the voice of the enemy tearing their throats. They all sat quietly without saying a word.
Cai Shan under the grape trellis looked at the people around him one by one, then flashed a contemptuous glance at the enemy, raised his pistol and killed himself with the last bullet, making a heroic sacrifice.
After the battle, the people who broke through returned to Yangjiayu. Villagers who were preparing to bury the remains of martyrs gathered together, and people were crying about their death. Among the remains of martyrs, Huang Tian, Jin Ge and Cai Shan, deputy chief of staff, were found ... Yangjiayu people held the most solemn burial ceremony according to local customs.
After liberation, in order to commemorate more than 40 martyrs, including Cai Shan, and educate the next generation, the Party and the government established a monument to revolutionary martyrs in Yangjiayu.
