Huyun Lake, commonly known as Beiyemen Lake, is located in the southeast of Mianhu Lake in Jieyang County, Guangdong Province. Laoyun Lake covers an area of 100 hectares, the water depth is 1 ~ 5 meters, and the water color is clear as jade. Four small islands or continents are distributed in the lake.
Brief introduction of culture
Among them, the Fish Island, which looks like a carp drawing water, is a famous treasure trove of geomantic omen and the graveyard of Xu Dixin, an internationally renowned economist. The other is Turtle Island, which is the remnant vein of Lai 'anren Mountain in the south, and looks like a floating turtle. Its glans is facing Yongchang Ancient Temple, and it is called "Scarab is facing Beidou".
Later, due to local construction, the red soil of Kameyama was dug up and turned into a continent field. There are also flag island and India island, which are all based on the shape. These islands are full of flowers and plants, and the rice and wheat are fragrant, like a stretched lotus leaf, floating on the foggy lake. In the morning, the green island is green, just like the rolling and flashing water drops on the lotus leaf, which is beautiful.

During the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, a bridge was built in front of Beiye to connect Dingling Village. The bridge body is arc-shaped and hollow, with shell ash on both sides of the bridge wall, stone slabs on the bridge deck and a little shell ash. The small bridge stands upright on the water, half-curved and half-curved, like a long embankment. The bottom of the bridge is hollow, which is conducive to draining the lake and keeping the same level with the fluctuation of the lake.
In the middle of the bridge, it slightly bends and protrudes into an arc in the direction opposite to the water, so that the lake flows down the bridge to both sides. Leave three bridge opening at the bridge head and two bridge opening at the end of the bridge to facilitate the circulation of the lake. The bridge deck is about three meters wide, and the whole bridge spans the end of the bridge and is about 100 meters long. The whole bridge is flooded without railings. In summer, the rain rose, the lake overflowed the bridge, and the light flow was ok, but the water was urgent and sad.
For practical needs, on the north side of the bridge deck, that is, on the downstream side, one stone bar and thirty-six stone bars are erected every few meters as sentries. There are holes in the stone pillars, which can be connected by iron cables to facilitate wading across the bridge. At the end of the bridge, there is another interesting feature. I don't know when it started. It is said that the hole at the end of the watchtower is just opposite the middle line of Yongchang Gate, and it is in line with the headlights of the North Emperor of Yongchang Hall.
Many people came here with curiosity to see the pillar cave, so it became a landscape, known as the "Northern Que Buddha Lantern". Popular people often say "North Gate Buddha", but it is just right to say that the mysterious god of Yongchang Temple is not a Buddha, but a Taoist rather than an interpreter.
Huyun Lake is a steam huff and puff lake, and its water level fluctuates greatly. It flows from Ying Ge Mountain, Marble Rock Mountain, Anren Mountain and Sheshan to Anqiantan, Wanfu River, Xiaoshouzhou River and then into Rongjiang South River. During the flood season, the water surface is vast and boundless. In the dry season, the beach is shallow and it is difficult to sail.
Huyun Lake is extremely rich in aquatic resources, rich in all kinds of fish and shellfish, which feed many ordinary people. Known as "Huyun Lake is more than ten miles, fish and shrimp can't be caught", also known as Jinhu and Yinhu.
Children who grew up in Huyun Lake like to catch "Shamang" (an aggressive mosquito-eating fish) in Huyun Lake and watch "Shamang" bite each other. There is also a fish in the lake called "Qianpo", which looks like a bream, but it is only the size of a thumb, and its whole body is white and shiny, which is very beautiful. There is also an aquatic animal with a retractable head. When the finger presses the abdomen, its head and front feet point to the sky. Release your finger and it will point to the ground.
People call it "pointing to the sky and pointing to the earth", and often use it to compare and satirize those who talk empty words as "pointing to the sky and pointing to the earth" in Beiyemen Lake.
