Wanshou Palace was built in Qianlong for three years (1738). Daoguang was rebuilt in the sixth year (1826). It is a representative of the culture of Qianlong Palace and ancient guild halls. In history, countless military and political dignitaries, literati and businessmen stopped here, or pointed out the mountains and rivers, or fantasized about the past, or recited the bright moon: Marshal He Long led troops here for one year, China writer Shen Congwen stayed in the palace with He Long for half a year to write the story of "One King", and his army held a military meeting in Wanshou Palace.
Wanshou Palace is near the main stone street in longtan town, followed by Longtan River. Opposite the Longtan River is Dafen Baoshan, and the choice of geomantic omen is very elegant. Wanshou Palace is a large building with three courtyards, which are divided into upper hall, middle hall and lower hall, with a construction area of 2,400 square meters.
Wanshou Palace, out of the gate of the lower hall, has a square reading desk, which is a platform built by the river with a stone foundation more than ten meters high. Standing here, you can have a panoramic view of Longtan River and the opposite scenery. Wanshou Palace is also a guild hall in Jiangxi. Longtan Wanshou Palace is one of the main well-preserved halls in Chongqing, with its large scale, magnificent halls and majestic atmosphere.
History of Wanshou Palace
According to historical records, Youyang Wanshou Palace was a royal palace built for Emperor Qianlong to cruise the south of the Yangtze River. However, because bandits were rampant at that time, Emperor Qianlong did not cruise here. Although Emperor Qianlong didn't stay here, a few years later, Youyang House held a large ceremony in Wanshou Palace to congratulate Emperor Guangxu on his accession to the throne, and also held a grand celebration for the 60th birthday of Empress Dowager Cixi.
According to the old people in the ancient town, Youyang Wanshou Palace is not only the palace of Emperor Qianlong, but also the guild hall of Jiangxi people. Emperor Qianlong failed to visit Wanshou Palace because of bandits, which led to its gradual decline. Coupled with years of disrepair, it has led to ruin.
In the sixth year of Daoguang, Jiangxi * * * jointly funded the reconstruction of Wanshou Palace after the vigorous call and careful organization of Jiangxi businessmen in Longtan, Nanchang, Ji 'an, Ruizhou, Jianchang, Linjiang and Fuzhou in Zhang Yu County, Jiangxi Province.
