Elk is a mammal of Cervidae, which is closely related to sika deer and red deer. Its body length is generally about 2 meters, and its shoulder height is above 1 meter. Males are larger, weighing up to 200 kilograms, while females are smaller.
Males have horns, females have no horns. Because they have "horns like deer instead of deer, hooves like cows instead of cows, tails like donkeys instead of donkeys, and heads like horses instead of horses", people call them "four unlike". The following are introduced separately.
The first is "horns like deer, not deer". Male elk have horns, while female elk have no horns. Their horns are a bit like antlers, but not as big as antlers. Secondly, "hoofs are like cows, not cows."
Hooves are like cows, but not as thick as cows. It has thick limbs, four hooves, small hooves on both sides and a pair of main hooves in the middle, which can adapt to walking in hard forests and soft swamps. It's the same sentence, "The tail is like a donkey, not a donkey." Elk's tail is like a donkey, but it's not as big as a donkey's tail. Besides, elk also sounds like a donkey.
Finally, "the head is like a horse, not a horse." Elk's head is like a horse, but there are differences. So the elk is really a veritable "four unlike".
At present, there are more than 1000 elk in China, which are endangered species. It is listed as a national first-class protected animal and has a special elk nature reserve.
