In the Xiatang Reservoir in early summer, the blue waves are boundless, and waterfowl play in the green water. Surrounded by green mountains on three sides, the two banks and the reservoir dam complement each other, and the beauty of nature is natural, just like a beautiful picture scroll, which is fascinating.
Xiatang Reservoir covers an area of 18.5 square kilometers, with a total storage capacity of14.04 million cubic meters. It is a provincial key medium-sized reservoir. Xiatang Reservoir is the emergency water source of Chaohu City. In recent years, the ecological protection of reservoir basins has been strengthened, protected areas have been demarcated, the governance capacity has been continuously improved, and the ecological environment has been significantly improved. The emergency water source protection area of Xiatang Reservoir is based on the reservoir water landscape, water conservancy facilities landscape and wetland landscape, with the connotation of water conservancy culture, wetland culture, farming culture and garden culture. It embodies the characteristics of nature reserve, which integrates water conservancy science and technology with ecological popular science education, water conservancy and wetland sightseeing, and tourism and leisure.
Standing on the top of the reservoir dam, the scenery of the reserve is unobstructed. The pavilions around the downstream pool of the reservoir are patchwork, integrated with the landscape, elegant and graceful, surrounded by curved bridges and plank roads, changing the scenery. Green trees and flowers are famous for their elegance, color, fragrance and appearance, which are in harmony with architecture and mountain ponds. Stroll along the tree-lined lakeshore and set foot on the water plank road, one scene at a time. The ecological landscape of "smooth canal, clear water, green shore and beautiful scenery" is displayed in front of us, and the lakes and waters are pleasing to the eye.
Nature reserves are more beautiful at night. All the lights are in full swing, and there is a light show. Land, water, light and shadow complement each other, making the whole nature reserve beautifully dressed. Walking on the blue slow road, you can wait for the moon in the pavilion and look out against the railing. Flowers move on the wall and peaks act as windows, just like natural scrolls. Xiatang Reservoir is located in Khan Lee Administrative Village, Xiage Town, about 24 kilometers away from Chaohu Lake. Convenient transportation is a good place for citizens to relax and entertain.
