Founder of the Zhou Dynasty who unified the whole country. Ji, whose real name was Chang, was a leader of the Zhou people in the late Shang Dynasty. He was named Fangbo by the Shang Dynasty, also known as Xibo and Zhoufangbo. He was the leader of western governors at that time and lived in Joo Won? (now Qishan, Shaanxi).
According to legend, he reigned for 50 years, died in Cheng (now northeast of Xianyang, Shaanxi Province) and was buried in Bi (now southwest of An, Shaanxi Province). After his son Zhou Wuwang ruined his business, he was called Zhou Wenwang. (about BC 1 1 century).
