Brief introduction of Huaqiu town

Huaqiu Town, Tongzi County, Guizhou Province, governs Huaqiu, Longjinggou, Tianshengqiao and other 14 administrative villages, and the villagers are mainly Han. Huaqiu Town, the resident of the town government, is 48km away from the county seat, bordering Gao Qiao Town in the east, Fengshui Town and Rongguang Township in the west, Shanpen Town of Zunyi County and Gaodaping Town of renhuai city in the south, and Jiuba Town and Taolin Township of Xishui County in the north, with a land area of142km2. Originally under the jurisdiction of Huaqiu District. 1July, 1992, Shibu Township, Keqin Township, Shiguan Township, Le Jing Township, Chashui Township and Huaqiu Township merged into Huaqiu Town. It governs Huaqiu, Longjinggou, Liping, Keqin, Le Jing, Qingshan, Dayan, Chashui, Xintian, Shiguan, Mu Yan, Xinghe, Tianshengqiao, Shibu 129 households, 12 197 households, with a total population at the end of 2008. There are Miao, Bai and Shui people scattered. Every village has access to highways with a total mileage of more than 80 kilometers. There is a tourist area of Jiupenshui Reservoir, with a lake area of 20 square kilometers. There are 13 primary and secondary schools and a health center.
