In a narrow sense, a safety officer refers to a person in charge of safety in an industry, such as a construction safety officer, who is responsible for patrolling and checking the safety status of the construction site, conducting safety education for new entrants, and supervising and assisting the implementation of safety technical disclosure. All potential safety hazards found in the construction site shall be reported to the foreman, project manager or relevant leaders immediately, and the construction shall be stopped. The safety officer has the right to check the safety-related documents in this industry, such as logs and records, and urge relevant personnel to improve. The safety officer and the project manager are the first responsible persons for the safety of the construction site, and the safety officer has no direct command over the construction. The safety officer has the obligation to accept the inspection of the construction site by the administrative department and the information in the industry. All personnel on the construction site should actively cooperate with the safety officer.
