Jingjiang Martyrs Cemetery is located at the west foot of Gushan Town, Jingjiang City, with a total area of 107 mu, including 22 mu in Xishan District, 24 mu in Dongshan Seedling Base and 6 1 mu in mountainous area.
The praise area of Xishan consists of five parts: the square in front of the park, the lobby, the memorial road, the monument and the memorial hall. The square in front of the park is 300 square meters, which is very open and specially used for parking vehicles for mourners and tourists to gather. There are three deep red doors in the front hall, which lead to the garden. The "Jingjiang Martyrs Cemetery" directly above the mourning hall was inscribed by Jiang, the former secretary of jiangsu provincial party committee. The hall covers an area of 1 14 square meters. Through the front hall, there is a tree-lined viewing avenue. The road is a cement slab structure, with a width of 8m and a length of150m. At first glance, you can see a monument to revolutionary martyrs built of granite. The base of the monument is 6 meters long, 6 meters wide and 6.6 meters high. The inscription "Immortal Revolutionary Martyrs" is made of gold, and the handwriting is photocopied for Premier Zhou Enlai. Walking 20 meters around the monument is the solemn, elegant and resplendent revolutionary martyrs memorial hall. The memorial hall is a civil structure with eaves and walls, carved beams and painted buildings, and blue walls and tiles. This is a palace-style building that imitates the Ming Dynasty building and is built on the mountain. This museum covers an area of 540 square meters. Stepping on the granite steps, you can see four powerful bronzing plaques inscribed by former Defense Minister Zhang Aiping. In front of the museum, there is a platform surrounded by granite columns for tourists to rest. There is a 13 hall, which is divided into a large room and four small rooms, showing a concave shape. There are 34 inscriptions by leaders from Fang Yi, Ye Fei and Ceng Tao in the big room. Portraits of martyrs and their stories are hung in the small room. In 24 cultural relics cabinets, historical materials, relics and weapons used by martyrs during their lifetime are displayed.
Jingjiang is a place of heroes, and Jingjiang people are heroes. According to the list of martyrs in Jiangsu province 1982, there are revolutionary martyrs in our city 1456, and 1983 was 1480 after the census, and then it was added and supplemented by 4 1 person, * *1526544. Among them, Agrarian Revolution students 1 person, War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression students 336, Liberation War students 998, Korean War students 106, and socialist revolution and construction students 8 1 person. The portrait of the martyr displayed in the museum is 76 frames.
