Xita, full name Xita yanshou temple, is located in Xita Street, Heping District, Shenyang. The West Building was built in Chongde for five years (1640) and completed in Shunzhi for two years.
According to historical records, in the eighth year of Chongde (1643), Emperor Taizong of the Qing Dynasty ordered that four pagodas and four monasteries be built in the east, west, north and south directions about 2.5 kilometers away from the central temple, namely: Yong Guang Temple in the East Tower, which means "radiant"; Temple tower yanshou temple, meaning "sincere birthday wishes"; Guangci Temple in Nanta, meaning "Pu 'an People's Heart"; Horyuji, the North Tower, means "circular proper law".

Heping District, belonging to Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, is located in the central area of Shenyang, bordering Shenhe District and Hunnan District in the east, Sujiatun District in the south, Tiexi District and Yuhong District in the west and Huanggu District in the north. The jurisdiction covers an area of 6 1. 1 km2, and governs 10 streets and1/2 communities (administrative villages). By the end of 2020, the resident population of Heping District was 730,700.
