Fengjie is a civilized ancient city with a long history, outstanding military position, profound cultural accumulation and simple folk customs. During the Shang and Zhou dynasties, it was once a fish town, later called fish town. From the mid-Warring States period (about 3 14 BC), 2325 was the county. Historically, its county names include Yufu, Yong 'an, Renfu and Fengjie. According to historical records, in the second year of Tang Wude (AD 6 19), the original Xinzhou was changed to Kuizhou, which was the beginning of using the name of Kuizhou in history. At that time, the name of fengjie county was restored. In the 23rd year of Zhenguan in Tang Dynasty (AD 649), it was changed to fengjie county (meaning Zhuge Liang was loyal to the public, and loyalty encouraged future generations). This is the beginning of using the name of fengjie county in history. It is called Wan Hu City, which governs the foot of today's Bai Di Mountain, and then moved to Wuyu and the old county. Historically, great changes have taken place in the location of Fengjie County, namely, the west of the city and Bai Di City. Xiqin is an old county town in the Three Gorges reservoir area that was submerged by the water level of 175 meters. Around this time, although the jurisdiction of Kuizhou changed, its jurisdiction was in Fengjie, so Fengjie became another name of Kuizhou, which has been used in folk spoken language since ancient times.
Fengjie, Kuimen is towering, Qutang is deep, surrounded by mountains, and scenic spots are everywhere. At this point, the poets of Mo Ke have enjoyed themselves, "breathing the sound of pearls and jade". Famous poets such as Wang Wei, Li Bai, Du Fu, Meng Jiao, Bai Juyi, Liu Yuxi, Li He, Su Shi, Su Zhe, Wang, Fan Chengda, Lu You, Yang Shen, Wang Shizhen and others left many beautiful poems. In particular, Du Fu, a "poet saint", wrote more than 430 poems during his two years in Fengjie, accounting for two-seventh of his complete works. Liu Yuxi created a new style of "Zhi Zhu Ci" on the basis of Kuiyu Bayu folk songs. In modern times, many scholars and revolutionary heroes have left their masterpieces. Nowadays, Fengjie people are also very coquettish and have many works. The well-known "early release of Bai Di City", a colorful cloud that bid farewell to Bai Di, will return in Jiangling one day. The cries of apes on both sides of the strait are still unconsciously crowing in their ears, and the canoe has passed the heavy green hills. It says Fengjie. Therefore, Fengjie has the reputation of "Poetry City".
