Kneel for the guiding words of the upper reaches of the rivers around the ancient city of Suzhou!

Starting from Miduqiao Ferry:

Hello tourists, welcome to the upper reaches of the river around the ancient city of Suzhou. The place where we are boarding now is the intersection of Suzhou moat and ancient canal. Inside the moat is the ancient city of Suzhou, with an area of 14.2 square kilometers. The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, which runs through the north and south of China, flows into the ancient city of Suzhou from the north through Hanshan Temple, leaving a city here, going to Hangzhou Bay and connecting Suzhou and Hangzhou, two paradise cities.

Now, if we go to the southeast of the river (usually on the left-hand side of tourists), we can see two bridges, one big and one small. The big one is called Xinmidu Bridge, and the small one is called Gumidu Bridge. In order to protect the ancient Midu Bridge and facilitate urban traffic, the new Midu Bridge was built. The ancient bridge in Midu was originally named Wuduqiao, because before the Yuan Dynasty, there was no bridge here, only a ferry, so boatmen often extorted people who needed to cross the river to use this route. Later, Master Jingxiu of Kunshan wanted to close the door and pass by. After repeated extortion, he decided to build a bridge so that the people would not be blackmailed by the boatman. So he begged for alms on the shore. With the help of good people, after a few years, he got the money to build the bridge and built the crossing bridge, which means that he no longer has to ferry by boat. Suzhou dialect "seeks" and "extinguishes" homophones, and over time it has become "seeking bridges". The existing Gumidu Bridge was rebuilt when Kuang Zhong was an official in Suzhou in the Ming Dynasty. Among the existing ancient bridges in Suzhou, arch coupons are the thinnest. Such a high arch bridge, the arch coupon is only 30 cm, which is very rare.

Beside the bridge, we can see three bronze statues. They are fishermen on the ferry, women who have crossed the river, and respectable masters. This is done in memory of the respected master.

Also on the left hand side, you will see a red brick tile house on the shore, which was built in Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty. It is the earliest customs site in Suzhou with a history of 100 years.

Soon we saw a reed bush with an island inside. Here, we can enjoy all kinds of floating, standing and semi-aquatic wetland landscapes. The air here is fresh, so people call it "the lungs of the city" figuratively.

Now the bridge in front of everyone is Nanyuan Bridge (starting from the lung of the city), and this huge platform in front is used to watch the float parade. When Suzhou held the International Tourism Festival in 2004, 19 floats competed here, which was an excellent viewing place. On the side (near Nanyuan Bridge), you can see three bronze statues. Those three men are trackers, and the stone road they stand on is the fiber path that trackers pull the boat away.

After crossing Nanyuan Bridge, you can see a red house on the north bank of Hebei, which is Suzhou No.1 Factory, an old factory with a history of more than 80 years. There are tombs of Sun Jian and Sun Ce in the factory. [There are still two houses, which I didn't write down in my notes, and I forgot a little. I'll make it up next time. ]

(Have a rest) Dear friends, look at this bridge now. It is one of the most important bridges in Suzhou, Ren Minqiao. The bridge is 45 meters wide and there are 15 corridor sidewalks on both sides. The eaves are light, exquisite in structure and antique in color. The road connecting Ren Minqiao is called Zuoyue Road, which runs through the north and south of Suzhou ancient city and is one of the main roads in Suzhou. Formerly known as "Wolong Street", the whole road lies like a giant dragon in the city. The university founded by Fan Zhongyan, a great writer in the Song Dynasty, was placed on the faucet of Wolong Street. Feng Shui is excellent, and it is not surprising that Suzhou won the first prize.

Now at the bottom of the bridge, I believe everyone has noticed the reliefs on both sides of bridge opening, totaling *** 16. Each work has a name, including an allusion (about two is enough): building a city for hegemony (the construction of a big city in Harmony Law) and Wumen Painting Academy ... forming a miniature history of Suzhou (the boatman will slow down the boat here, enough to tell two pictures).
