Landscape architecture of Wuyuan Jiangwan

There are many well-preserved ancient buildings in Jiangwan, such as Dunchong Hall, the director of the household department, Jiang Qian's Sansheng Hall, an educator and Buddhist scholar in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, Deqing Hall in an ancient private school, the ancient residence of wealthy businessman Jiang Renqing, the ruins of "one government and six courtyards", and many ancient wells, pavilions and ancient bridges, which reflect the charm of ancient Huizhou culture everywhere. In particular, Peixin Hall, a building built by Huizhou merchants in Qing Dynasty, has typical features of Huizhou folk houses: front storefront, middle folk houses and back kitchen. On the lintel of Tang Peixin, the words "An Residence in Leshan" are written, taking the meaning of Confucius that "a benevolent person enjoys Leshan, and a wise person enjoys water", which shows the business ethics of "benevolence is the quality" of Huizhou merchants. Across the hall, there is a square yard. Under the south wall of the courtyard is a solemn brick-carved Shikumen building, which is beautiful and generous. Brick carvings of peach, lotus, chrysanthemum, plum, fish, firewood, ploughing, reading, sparrow, deer, bat and longevity are vivid, and the word "Chen Gong Cui Qing" in the middle has a profound meaning. The main hall is wide and high, with three rooms in horizontal rows, the main hall in the middle and the bedroom beside it. There is a courtyard in front of the main hall, a flower window on the east wall, a plaque of "Peixin Hall" hanging above it, and couplets hanging on the wooden pillars on both sides: "The eternal articles convey the truth, the family is filial, and it is happy", "The temperature of the spring water is constantly changing, and the flowers in the court are laughing and inviting guests". Being in it makes people feel quiet and elegant.

Jiangwan people are proud of Houlongshan, and they attribute their national prosperity and the emergence of talents to the kindness of Houlongshan Long Mai. This concept of feng shui is naturally not credible. However, under the influence of this concept, Jiangwan people created a model of closing mountains to facilitate afforestation and protect the ecology. Since ancient times, Jiangwan people have not allowed anyone to touch the grass and trees on Longshan. In ancient times, there was an allusion to "killing the son and closing the mountain". "Killing children and harvesting mountains" refers to the selfless governance of Jiangwan by Jiang Shaowu, the eighteenth ancestor. His son illegally went to Houlongshan to chop wood and was caught by the ranger. In order to set an example for others, he helped his son parade around the streets and put him to death. From then on, no one dared to go to Houlongshan to cut wood for hundreds of years. Therefore, the vegetation in Houlongshan has been well protected. Nowadays, entering Houlongshan is like entering a primeval forest with towering ancient trees, which adds a lot of charm to Jiangwan ancient village built on the mountain.

Jiangwan Scenic Area is surrounded by mountains and waters, with beautiful scenery, rich products and prosperous literature. Green tea and Sydney are famous for a long time. Jiang Yong, a Confucian scholar and phonologist in the Qing Dynasty, Jiang Yilin, assistant minister of Qin Long in the Ming Dynasty, and Jiang Qian, a famous educator and Buddhist scholar in the late Qing Dynasty, were born. There are as many as 88 kinds of writings by villagers, and there are 25 officials with more than seven products, which is a well-deserved representative of Wuyuan's "book town". Up to now, the village has well-preserved Huizhou ancient buildings such as Sanshengtang, Dunchongtang and Peixintang, as well as public buildings such as Donghemen and Bajing, which are of great historical and ornamental value.
