Ching-Ying Lam established his own unique rules, which are said to be strictly observed by all the actors and staff involved in the performance.
The first rule stipulates that Ching-Ying Lam must choose an auspicious day before shooting ghost films, and he must invite a special Feng Shui teacher to choose this festival. Before choosing an auspicious day, he must not start shooting. On the day of shooting, he will give everyone a red envelope, indicating that the shooting process is smooth. One more thing, if you encounter any unlucky or special days during shooting, you must stop shooting.
The second point is to choose the right shooting location. Before shooting a ghost film, Ching-Ying Lam should not only choose an auspicious day, but also choose a shooting location. The shooting location was also chosen by a special Mr. Feng Shui. In Ching-Ying Lam's view, shooting time and location are equally important. For example, you shouldn't film accidents. According to the traditional custom in China, you should also prepare some offerings, kowtow and burn incense.
The third point is very special. It sounds mysterious. Every scene ends with a loud "Ka". This is mainly to prevent actors from getting too involved in the scene and remind them that we are filming. We are not real ghosts. Making ghost films is different from other films, and it is easy to be fascinated or mentally affected. Ching-Ying Lam is particularly concerned about this.
The last point is very similar to the third point, that is, after we shoot a scene, the actors must exercise, because we shoot ghost films, mostly playing zombies, and they are stiff and can't move. If we do this for a long time, it will be bad for our health, so we must stretch after shooting.
