Built in the 30th year of Qing Daoguang (1805), the tower is a feng shui tower. The original site was the Ming Emperor Temple, which was later destroyed by a fire. During the Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty, people raised funds for reconstruction. In the early years of Qing Daoguang, a back hall was built for the Bodhisattva King Li Xiu. In the 30th year of Daoguang (1850), the West Tower was built. Before and after the two halls, there is an ear room on the west side, which was renamed Xita Temple one by one. The west tower has a hexagonal five-story brick-wood structure, which is pavilion-style, with a height of 15.5 meters. The cornice is upturned, and the gourd rises from the ground, which is antique. The outer wall at the bottom of the tower is 2.25m wide, with a perimeter of13.5m and an area of about 30m2. The side ladder can climb to the top floor, overlooking the railing and enjoying the beautiful scenery along the river.
Legend has it that the West Building was built by Gan. Wang, nicknamed Wang hemp seed, raised money to build towers and a hundred pairs of broken shoes; In order to transport the tower building materials, five cars were damaged. Building a tower with one heart and being single for forty years won the praise of the villagers. After building the tower, I finally got a wife.
The structure of the West Tower is unique. The wooden eaves of brick-wood mixed structure are replaced by short eaves of brick-wood structure. Although it imitates the pavilion style, it is not large in scale and only symbolically picks the waist eaves. It gives people a feeling that solemnity is better than lightness. The West Tower is a beacon tower for geomantic omen, which advocates writing style and tree signs.
