Wei (Yu) County belongs to Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. Yuzhou was called one of the "Sixteen States" in ancient times. Yuxian is a famous historical and cultural city in China. During the Tang Yao period, Yuxian belonged to Jizhou. At the beginning of Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Datong Prefecture, Shanxi Province. 1693, in the thirty-second year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, it was changed to Weixian County in Zhou Dynasty (the county name started from now on), belonging to Xuanhua Prefecture.
