The Evolution of shaping town

In the seventeenth year of Tian Liang's reign (5 18), Lianghua County was established as Shiping County, which governed the area. Because there is Shi Ping Village, there is Shi Ping at the top of Huilong Mountain behind the village, hence the name. In the eighth year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1529), there was a patrol inspection department in Wuyang Village. In the early Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Yihua Township, which was called Shiping Township after Tongzhi. In the early years of the Republic of China, it was changed to the eighth district, later called Shiping Township. 1949 belongs to the fifth district of Lechang County (the district office is located in Shilao Street, Xianping). 1955 regional office moved to Buffalo Bay. Shiping Town was established in 1956 and Shi Ping Commune was established in 1958. Jurisdiction over Lingshiba, Jinji, Xinyanxia, Jingkou and Bantang five administrative villages and three neighborhood committees of Labor, Masses and Pingnan Road. Laopingshi Town covers an area of 100 square kilometers and has a population of 20,000. It has jurisdiction over five administrative villages, namely Baidongdong, Wutang, Bushi, Wuyang Temple, Sanxingping, Xiaojiawan, Li Antang, Chen Jiaping, Longzhu, Baizhu, Sanhongqiao, Wuyang Bridge, Brick Village, Daluojia Village, Renli Village 15, and 65,435 administrative villages in Laopingshi Street.

In April, 2002, the five administrative villages of Tiantou, Hefeng, Luojiadu, Changpailiao and Paradise in the former Luojiadu Town were placed under the jurisdiction of Shi Ping Town. By the end of 2002, Laopingshi Town had an area of 97 square kilometers and a population of 22,000. In July 2003, Laopingshi Town was revoked and merged into Shiping Town. 20 10 town covers an area of 267.6 square kilometers and has a population of12.10,000 people.
