North Song Dynasty Imperial Tombs

The Imperial Tomb of the Northern Song Dynasty, located in gongyi city, Zhengzhou City, has a history of more than 1,000 years since it was built in the sixth year of Gande, Song Taizu (AD 968). There were nine emperors in the Northern Song Dynasty. Except for Qin Zong, who was captured by Jin Bing and died, the other seven emperors and Zhao (the father of the founding emperor of the Northern Song Dynasty) were buried in Gongyi. These tombs in the Northern Song Dynasty are commonly known as "Seven Emperors and Eight Mausoleums". In addition to the emperor's mausoleum, there are empresses and imperial clan nobles, as well as heroes such as Gao Huaide, Kou Zhun, Bao Zheng, Yang Liulang and Zhao Pu. The imperial tombs in the Northern Song Dynasty are mainly divided into four areas: Xicun Mausoleum, Caizhuang Mausoleum, County Mausoleum and Baling Mausoleum. The West Village Mausoleum includes Yong 'an Mausoleum, Yongchang Mausoleum and Yongxi Mausoleum. Cai Zhuang Mausoleum includes Yongding Mausoleum, Gao Huaide Mausoleum, Cai Qiling, Bao Zheng Mausoleum and Kou Zhun Tomb. There are Yong Zhaoling and Yong Hou Ling in the county mausoleum area; Baling includes Yongyu Mausoleum and Yongtai Mausoleum. The imperial tombs in Song Dynasty are completely different from other imperial tombs: the mausoleum platform is located in the lower part, and the emperor and queen are buried in different caves, thus forming an isolated case in the history of ancient imperial tombs in China.

The entire Yongzheng Mausoleum is grand in scale and magnificent in architecture. It follows the feudal geomantic geomorphology and geomantic theory, moves with the terrain, and is surrounded by mountains and waters, with a dome in the southeast and a sag in the northwest. It consists of the Imperial Tomb, the Empress Mausoleum and the Summer Palace. Quetai to Beishenmen, the north-south axis is 55 1 m long. Twenty-four pairs of Shinto statues in front of the mausoleum are well preserved, as are the stone lions outside the four palace gates in the east, west, north and south. There is a new tree stone tablet in front of Tainan Mausoleum, engraved with the words "Song Taizong Zhao Xuanguang Yiling".

The most famous stone sheep in Yong Xiling, together with the stone lions in Yong Yuling and the stone statues in Yongtai Mausoleum, is the top-grade stone carving in the Mausoleum of the Song Dynasty, and it is said that "Hutuo Mausoleum is a stone sheep". These stone sheep lie with their heads held high, with beautiful images, vivid charm and vivid ecology. They are the most plump, vivid, beautiful and affectionate images of sheep in the mausoleum sculptures of Song Ling and even China.

Yongchang tomb

Yongchang Mausoleum, located in the north of Xicun Town, gongyi city, is the mausoleum of Zhao Kuangyin, the founding emperor of the Northern Song Dynasty. Lingdong is adjacent to his father Zhao Xuanzu's Yong 'an Mausoleum and his brother Taizong's Yongxi Mausoleum in the west. It is said that Yongchang Mausoleum was selected by Zhao Kuangyin himself. After paying a visit to his parents' mausoleum, he boarded the turret and lamented that time flies, so he took out his bow and arrow and shot it to the northwest, and told the minister that the place where the arrow landed was his "Imperial Hall", named Yongchang.

Yongchang Mausoleum is well preserved. The height of the mausoleum is about 15 meters. There is one door in the east, west, north and south, and 1 pair of stone lions are placed outside the four doors. Outside the south gate of the cemetery and north of Shishi, there are a pair of town gate warriors; There are two pairs of imperial secretaries at the south gate and in front of the mausoleum. Yongyuling

Yongyuling, located in the southeast of Baling Village in the southwest of gongyi city, is the tomb of Song Shenzong Zhao Yong, the sixth emperor of the Northern Song Dynasty, which was built in 1085. There are two mausoleums in Baling Village, which are called Baling District, Yongyu Mausoleum in Song Shenzong to the east and Yongtai Mausoleum in Song Zhezong to the west. Dongling is the most exquisite place for carving stone lions, while Xiling is the best stone statue, which is what the locals call "the lion statue of Dongling".

The two stone lions carved on both sides of the Shenmen Gate in the south of Yongyu are perfect. They looked at each other, glaring at each other, and they were forceful. The lion hung a bell around his neck and tied a chain on his back. His legs are muscular, he strides forward and is full of energy. This is also the most successful work of Songling stone lion modeling.

Yongyuling is "stacked" with a slightly square bottom. The original two steps no longer exist. There are 17 stone carvings in front of the tomb, all of which are exquisite. Even foreign envoys are lifelike, with curly hair and even curly beards, holding gifts for Zongshen.

Hou Yongling is located in gongyi city, about 200 meters northwest of Zhao Yongling, near gongyi city Chinese Medicine Hospital. This is the tomb of Zhao Shu in Song Yingzong. Song Yingzong has no chance to ascend to the throne. Because Song Renzong had no children, he became the first emperor in the Northern Song Dynasty to inherit the great cause of reunification as the eldest son. Among the tombs buried with him are Gao Empress and Wu. It is said that the tomb of Yang is among them.

Hou Yongling Mausoleum is a very humble mausoleum in the Northern Song Dynasty, with a residual height of15m and a square bottom. There are still 16 stone carvings before the tomb, of which the most exquisite is the only "watchtower" left in the east. It is octagonal, and each side is carved with a fine Yunlong pattern, which is as thin as a hairspring and changes in flow. It is the best stone carving in Songling.

There are still 46 stone carvings on both sides of Shinto, including 24 in the east and 22 in the west (lack of elephant tamers and envoys). Although these 46 stone carvings exist, they are poorly preserved. Some were only cut in half, and some were beheaded. The noses and mouths of stone statues and stone lions were badly damaged.

Yongtai mausoleum

Yongtai Mausoleum, located in the southwest of Baling Village, gongyi city City, Song Zhezong, is Zhao Xu's mausoleum. Compared with the Li Yongling Mausoleum in East Song Shenzong, the local people call it Xiling. Xiling is the most famous stone statue, alongside the stone lions in Yongyuling and the stone sheep in Yongxiling. Therefore, there is a saying that "the lion in Dongling is like Xiling, and the stone sheep in Hutuo River is good".

Song Zhezong Zhao Xu ascended the throne at the age of 9, and didn't take power until the death of Empress Dowager Gao eight years later. In Wang Anshi's political reform, he restored the Jiabao law, the exemption law and the young crops law, which reduced the burden on farmers and improved the country's situation. He was also one of the more successful emperors in the Northern Song Dynasty. During the Jin Dynasty, Song Ling was destroyed and excavated on a large scale. Today, there is only a bare mound left in Yongtai Mausoleum.

There are only 1 elephant tamer in the stone carving erected on the Shinto of Yongtai Mausoleum, and only 1 maid without head among the original four eunuchs and maids in front of the Mausoleum. The military commanders in front of the mausoleum are tall and powerful, the Swiss animals have fine patterns, and the horses and birds are also vividly portrayed, which is worth appreciating carefully.
