Once upon a time, there was a master Jinshi who was overbearing and arrogant. One Spring Festival, in order to show off, he posted such a couplet on the door:
Father Jinshi, son Jinshi, father and son Jinshi.
Mother-in-law, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law
It happened that a poor scholar in the town passed by the door of Jinshi's house and saw this couplet, which was very disgusting. In the evening, when I saw no one around, I quietly added a few strokes to the couplet.
Early the next morning, there were many onlookers around the front door of the Jinshi, and there were many discussions. The sound alarmed the master of Jinshi. He quickly opened the door and immediately fainted on the front steps. The couplet in front of the original Jinshi has been changed by the scholar to this:
Father in the grave, son in the grave, father and son in the grave;
Mother-in-law loses her husband, daughter-in-law loses her husband, and both mother-in-law and daughter-in-law lose their husbands.
Story 2
Su Dongpo posted a couplet on the study door when he was a child:
Know all the words in the world and read all the books in the world.
This is known by an old gentleman. One day, he brought a little book and asked Su Dongpo for advice. Su Dongpo took the notebook and saw many words he didn't know. He has never seen this little book before, and he can't help feeling very ashamed. The old man took back the notebook, stared at the couplet for a long time, shook his head and walked away. Su Dongpo saw in his eyes that his couplets were really crazy and should not be, so he picked up a pen and added two more words at the beginning, but the meaning changed greatly. The revised couplet is:
Make up your mind to read all the books in the world.
Story 3
It is said that in order to find Mr Right, Su Xiaomei decided to choose her husband through literary works. As soon as the news came out, there were countless suitors. One of them is Fang, the son of a rich family. He admired his little sister for a long time, and he put forward some proud poems. Who knows, my little sister, as light as white water, began to write couplets on it:
There are few talents at the bottom of the pen, and there is nothing to do in the chest.
Su Dongpo saw his little sister's couplet, afraid of getting into trouble, and quietly added a word behind her couplet, changing it to:
There are few talents at the bottom of the pen, and there are endless strategies in the chest.
Fang was ecstatic after reading it. He was eager to see his little sister to express his feelings. Su Dongpo knew that little sister was not easy to handle, and he was afraid that the joke would not be good. He quickly found an excuse to stop him and said, "My little sister is a little literary, but her face is not good-looking, her face is long and her forehead is prominent. If you don't believe me, just read a poet's words to you: a tear of acacia last year has not reached her cheek so far. Before going out, I went to the picture gallery on my forehead. How did Fang know that Su Dongpo was lying to himself? He really thought Su Xiaomei was ugly, so he went away disgruntled.
Story 4
At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Duoqilu served as a county magistrate in Xishui, Hubei Province for 8 years, and the exorbitant taxes and miscellaneous taxes were a dime a dozen, which was deeply hated by the people. On New Year's Eve, Dodge Road posted a couplet on the gate:
I was ordered by you to defend my country and fly twice, just for the right sky and the right child.
With his * * * settled here, eight years of red claws, the most unforgettable white stone in the mountains, the clear spring in the temple.
On the same day, someone quietly changed the couplet to a dozen words, outlining the ugly face of a corrupt official, and changed it to:
I humiliated my country at your command, and locusts flew in two directions. It doesn't matter if your head is blue and your eyes are bald.
After eight years of digging with a small official, it was a mess, leaving only white stones in the mountains and clear springs in the temple.
Story 5
During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, there was a corrupt official who always flaunted incorruptibility. That corrupt official posted a couplet on his door:
Love the people and enforce the law like mountains.
A wise man added a sentence to the upper and lower couplets, which read:
If you love the people, you will get all my money.
Law enforcement is like a mountain Is Qian Shan a mountain?
This change truly depicts the true face of corrupt officials.
Story six
It is said that in the twelfth lunar month, Wang Xizhi, a great calligrapher of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, moved from Shandong to Shaoxing, Zhejiang. With the Spring Festival approaching, Wang Xizhi wrote a couplet: "Spring Breeze, Spring Rain, Spring, New Year, New Year's New Scene". Keep your son against the door. Unexpectedly, it was quietly revealed shortly after it was posted. Wang Xizhi had to write another couplet: "There is beauty in the north and beauty in the south." He asked his son to post it, only to be "stolen" by a local calligraphy lover who loves calligraphy. Seeing that the festival is coming, the door is still empty. Wang Xizhi's wife is very anxious. Wang Xizhi thought for a moment, smiled and took the pen and ink, and wrote a couplet. After writing, he asked his son to cut the couplets from the middle and use half each first:
It never rains but it pours.
After these two pieces of paper were posted, no one came to uncover them again. At the dawn of the first day, Wang Xizhi personally posted the second half of the Spring Festival couplets below, and the result became:
It never rains but it pours. Last night's trip
When the neighbors saw it, they all said it was wonderful, and the story spread widely.
All the story materials mentioned above come from the Internet. In fact, in life, as long as everyone is interested in couplets and pays attention to their collection, many things that change couplets skillfully will happen around us.
For example, a teacher in my office casually sighed:
Life is like a dream.
This is a couplet, but it is a bit negative, so I changed it.
Is life like a dream? There is still spring in the grass.
The meaning has become much more positive.
For another example, my colleague wrote a couplet satirizing the style of the organ:
Please go to the front desk if you have anything, and don't come to the back door if you have no money.
Changed it to:
Who wants to take the money to the front office! I can go in through the back door.
Questions and answers set each other off.
