Shengfo Temple is located in Yanshan Village, Hu Aishu Township, mengzhou city. The Buddhist Temple sits west to east and enters the quadrangle building. It covers an area of about 65,438+0,480 square meters and is located on a 6-meter-high platform. The existing Great Buddha Hall and the Land and Water Hall sit west to east, opposite to the Heavenly King Hall and the Lohan Hall. There is a 2.5-meter passage between the Heavenly King Hall and the Lohan Hall. There is an arched gatehouse between the back wall of Tianwang Hall and the gable of Luohan Hall, with a stone tablet of the "Holy Buddha Hall" on it, and eleven stone steps are built under the gatehouse.
The Buddhist Temple sits west to east, backed by hills, and built according to the surrounding terrain. Due to the limitation of topography, the temple buildings are not on the same axis, but it is a unique and well-preserved architectural complex of the Qing Dynasty, which makes use of favorable topography and adapts to local conditions. It has important historical value for studying the development and evolution of ancient buildings in the Qing Dynasty in northwest Henan and local geomantic science.
In 2003, it was announced as a cultural relic protection unit in mengzhou city, and in 2006, it was announced as a key cultural relic protection unit in Henan.
